Christmas Tags for CI#47

At Christmas there is always the need for gift tags. And Stampin' Up! has all the tools. I love the new Christmas Tradition Punch.  I created these little gift boxes for all the crafters who came to my Christmas Card Buffet. The boxes contained a sample of the embellishments in the holiday catalogue, lots of lovely bling. I designed this project ages ago and I've since seen a lot of Navy in the Christmas Decorations in the shops so I was surprised and pleased that my project seems to be "On Trend" for 2018. One of the projects at the card buffet was to make a set of gift cards using the Christmas Traditions stamp and punch set in these same colours. That way at the end of the day they could put the set in the box and regift it -  a matching set in a readymade box ready to give away if they wanted to. The inspiration pic this week is just gorgeous but I do have a confession- I went off on a whim and created the project THINKING I had used the

CASEing the Catty-#207, anything but a card- has to be a tin of cards!

Hello, it's such a busy time of year this was a super quick project to add to my stash of gifts for Christmas. I love the copper tea tins for sets of cards, they look so great packaged up and I had quite a few at the markets recently. This one uses one of the coming stamp sets which we received at Onstage."Incredible Like You" I think these make lovely appreciation, birthday or encouragement cards so I have left the inside blank I have used Soft Sea Foam, Blueberry Bushel, Garden Green and Melon Mambo on a base of Grey Granite. I was inspired by the decorated tins on page 14 of the annual catalogue. The front of the tin has a 3 x 3 square which is indicative of the cards inside, and the tin is wrapped in a strip of 2" DSP.  I can;t believe it but I've now run out of 3 x 3 envelopes! so this ended up as a set of 6 - usually I do 8. The tins are a great size.  And here's a few of the other tins I had at the markets. I hope yo

Colour INKspiration #46 Beautiful Bright Blooms

Welcome back for another round of creating with colour - and what a stunning colour palette this week. I have tried a completely new style and playing with watercolour for this card. It's not perfect but it's ok for a beginner! the aim is to get a large "drop" of colour and try to get the bulk of the colour at the base to form a more concentrated colour arc around the bead of liquid for the blooms. Not very obvious in the photos. I added the stems with a black journalling pen, although I did stamp the stamens from the Colourful Seasons set. The lea fy undergrowth is one of the lovely plants from the hostess set Seasoned with Kindness. It was quite a fun technique and I'll keep working on it. Here is another colour combination, and I also did some Dandelions with this technique too. I think they make quite a funky look and will suit some of my nieces more than the regular floral cards I make. I do love the hand doodled stems of lit
