Lillybet's Papers

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...

I have a new colour palette here for the latest Colour INKspiration challenge, AND I have some brand new stamps, dies and 3D embossing folder. I just HAD to play along this week. How is it already June? .... the END of June? I'm so happy I got a project together for this week's challenge, it's been too long since I could commit to participating. As a Demonstrator one of the perks is getting new stuff before it is officially available to the public. You can get this set early too, if you are already a demonstrator, or you join my team and put this in your starter kit.  I am always drawn to nature sets, and particularly leaves as I sold my last set and then regretted it! Changing Leaves has 3 leaf image stamps which are a good size for a feature on your card, and 5 sentiment stamps in a simple uncluttered font. Well it's that time of the year again, and we are only a few days from saying farewell to this group of 5 colours. I will definitely miss STARRY SKY - it's been such a pleasure to work with. But that means there are 5 NEW colours coming - and they are just beautiful. So for this colour challenge we are asking you to use one or more. I managed to use 3 on each card, using the 3D Sweet Citrus Hybrid folder  and dies and the Sweet Citrus Stampset . I am sad that these too are retiring. They make such a fun card. The 3D Embossing folder creates a stunning embossed background. I had applied the base ink using a Blending Brush prior to embossing but added more ink once embossed to the raised leaves and citrus for a deeper effect. I did this for both versions.
