Elements of Style Emboss Resist

Emboss Resist is always a really effective technique for that added dimension. these are a few samples from a recent class where we tried the same technique in different ways. My photography is not the best so I apologise. This sample used the gorgeous Elements of Style set (p113 #121504) First I embossed the floral image with white embossing powder (p159 #109132) and coloured the images using the Stampin' Write Markers. I used Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette. Then to protect them from the background stamp marring the colours and also to add a bit more detail, I covered the coloured images with Crystal Effects (p177, #101155). I love this stuff! I left it to dry for quite a while till it was set. Then I stamped over the whole image with the Woodgrain Background Stamp using Early Espresso, and cleaned the residual ink off the embossed and coloured image.  The Hummingbird I embossed with the Early Espresso Embossing Powder (Summer Mini  p35 #128980) as, well as the sent

More Clockworks- live in the moment

For this Clockworks version I masked a strip with 2 pieces of plain paper and repeatedly stamped the clock, masking each watch shape so that they appear to overlap. I used the Stamp-a-Ma-jig to align the clock faces and hands.  The cogs and background stamps were used in Pool Party ink to fill the spaces. The remainder of the stamping was with the Woodgrain background stamp and the gorgeous script and splodges from French Foliage ( a favourite go-to set) The background is the Early Espresso Coredinations cardstock which is so easy to distress. I love it The feature watch also has a white embossed clock face which is sponged using emboss resist to make the numerals really stand out. This piece is raised on dimensionals. Text uses the "live in the sunshine" stamp from the Pursuit of Happiness set, and I have stamped the word moment using the cog from Clockworks, and one of the now retired alphabet sets. hope you can get some inspiration from this set too. Thanks for

This Paper is just so lovely and easy to use. I love all of them, but I am particularly taken with the Raspberry Ripple pages. The in colour ribbon is easy to use, and I love that you can sponge any colour onto the soft flower trim to highlight any card. The Summer mini offers so many possibilities.  Hope you can find some inspiration also. Contact me for any supplies . cheers, Liz

Clockworks

have been playing with the great Clockworks set and have come up with a few different looks. i love the handy background stamps as they are easy to create a variety of looks with only one colour or can make a good cover using 2 or more dfferent shades.  The clockface is easy to use. i have experiemented with different options. My favourite is to emboss the numbers with white embossing powder then emboss resist sponge the face with Sahara Sand. Lastly I stamped the Watch case and embossed this with the Close to cocoa powder before cutting out the watch and attaching it with dimensionals. i have stamped the hands onto a scrap of double layer cardstock and cut them out also. For several of the watchfaces I have sponged first then added some shimmer paint using a sponge dauber. I also like the clockface sponged in a bright colour like Calypso Coral. For one of the clocks i have stamped onto Vellum Cardstock and cut out the face, either the full face or as a ring. Using the

Valentine's Day card with Vintage Verses

Well this is the first Valentine's Day Card I have ever made. It hasn't been a type of card i have ever given, but this year I have been inspired by the Vintage Verses Stamp  Set from Sale a Briton, and also by the gorgeous Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack (129312) . I have taken one of the Midnight Muse pages and cut around the beautiful journalling section. I have mounted this on Midnight Muse cardstock and trimmed it with a small border to compliment the design. I love how intricate and delicate it is. Then I stamped the "day as perfect as you are" using the stamp n' write markers to colour selected sections of the rubber only. The Happy Valentine's Day sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set (119185) and is stamped in Old Olive. The background paper is also Old Olive form the Polka Dot Parade DSP (126902) which has been sponged around the edges to soften the white polka dots a little. The new Striped Organdy Ribbon from page

Bird Punch Gull on the Jetty

Well I am in awe of  Michelle Zindorf and her amazing brayer work and use of different Stampin' Up! tools. I found her thanks to Splitcoast Stampers. This is a CASE from Sue at splitcoaststampers.com , who has CASEd Michelle Zindorf's  great website  http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2011/06/08/on-the-dock-tutorial-428/ It is amazing to me how many talented people are so willing to share their work for inspiration. Thanks to them... My version is made using the following: The jetty posts are made using the great Early Espresso C'oredinations cardstock which distresses so easily. It is torn, crushed and folded and tied with string. The gull is made using the fabulous Bird Punch which is then trimmed a little to be a less plump bird and sponged with Crumb Cake ink, as is the wing. The beak is coloured with River Rock, and the legs hand drawn. I don't have a brayer so the sea is done by swiping the inkpad over the card, and the sky is sponged on. I used Borde

Established Elegance and Vintage Verses from Sale-a Bration

I Just love this Set. This also uses the Vintage Verses from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue. I did get some inspiration for this card from one I saw on Pinterest, (from the very talented Heather Klump at hlkdownstairsdesigns.blogspot.com ) but I have put my own vintage perspective on it, and of course the Tiny Tags which I love to add to almost everything.  I have used Glossy Accents on the Primrose Petals standout Mannequin which adds a nice dimension. The Crystal Buttons seem perfect too. The lovely new Flower Trim from the new Summer Mini Catalogue are perfect and very easy to work with. Hope you enjoy looking at this one, I certainly had fun making it. contact me if you would like to order any of these gorgeous products, thanks for looking , Liz

More Perfectly Preserved

Combining the flowers from Perfectly Preserved  in Primrose Petals  and the flowers and leaves from   Summer Silhouettes for a birthday card. Other colours are Gumball Green and Night of Navy. Last birthday card: both the layers of Night of Navy cardstock and Whisper white have been had the jar shape cut out with the framelit before assembling the layers. the white layer has also been embossed with the dots embossing folder. There is something nice and fresh about the cherries. The button which holds the birthday banner has been stamped and punched out of card to avoid too much bulk that a real button would create - even though i do love real buttons.     Thanks for looking, Liz

Everything Eleanor

Everything Eleanor has such beautiful elements. I love the swirl and all the flowers. This card uses  Crumb Cake and Regal Rose and the gorgeous seam binding ribbon. The butterfly is stamped onVellum cardstock with a floral image just to give some pattern then punched out with the Butterfly Punch.  I use this technique often to get a butterfly that matches the colours exactly.  This Card Class Version was a one layer (almost) stamped version using  Crumb Cake for the shield shape which was then masked, Old Olive for the swirls and sentiment, and Raspberry Ripple provided a great depth of coverage over the crumb cake shield.  One flower was stamped separately and cut out and raised  up and the butterfly was punched from vellum that had been stamped with the raspberry ripple flowers randomly.  This Thankyou set uses both Everything Eleanor and Kindness Matters, 2 of my favourite sets. Stamped in Regal Rose, So Saffron, and Crumb Cake on Naturals White cardst
