More GATE FOLD samples - Irresistible Blooms and Patterned DSP

In my last class we made a Gate Fold using the Layering Leaves set. It's such a nice fold I had fun creating a few more samples using up some of the elements from my "useful box"  (thanks to Playschool I have always had a useful box, although  there are no cereal cartons or egg cartons are in mine these days!) Some time ago I heat embossed the flower in gold onto watercolour paper and painted it with Poppy Parade and Petal Pink, it was in the box and was the starting point for this creation. this sample uses the beautiful Irresistible Blooms  bundle I love the Dry Brushed Metallic DSP for decorating and die cutting You can see the original post and the measurements I used here. Don't forget I have a whole page with links to instructions on different Fancy Folds - if you scroll right to the top of this page you'll see all the different pages available and the FANCY FOLDS is the far right tab. The second sample was very quick, just using DSP for the pattern and int

Crafting with You

I have been following along with the Crafty Carrot Collective for their August tutorials which have all been using the fabulous Crafting with You Bundle.  I love Jennifer Frost's approach using up your stash and her clean style.  This uses one of the ( many) pre-printed Memories and More Card and  Envelopes form my stash and some of the elements from the set. I even created a cute tiny card to sit on the front. Where would we be without our Paper Cut and Emboss machine? The sentiment is heat embossed for some added punch against the darker background. To get the fine twine I unravelled a piece of baker's twine. Easy. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Crafting with You EASY Easel card

These two cards came together in no time. - using DSP as your card base is an easy hack. The  Crafting with You  makes it really easy I cut the easel with the die and no stamping. The "canvas" is some DSP with a "watercolour look" which I stamped the sentiment onto directly. This is held in place with a staple, which also attaches the twine. I stamped and coloured one image of the paintbrushes and cut it in 2 to attach to the card. These are simple and quick and the combinations possibilities are endless. Crafting with You Gatefold and other samples.

How cute and fun is the CRAFTING WITH YOU stampset and dies . I have been having fun playing with these cute images and dies Using up some scraps on my desk I created another gatefold card  (you can find measurements and details on this recent post ). The easel is mounted on a sheet of vellum which is glued onto a piece of acetate to give it some stability. I thought the strip of DSP captured the background painting effect quite well and supported my other colours in the stamping. How cute are the retired library clips for holding the paper on the easel.  There's so many things you can create with these beautiful dies. Shop with me here  and here's another sample using some more of the elements. How cute is that paper trimmer? I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

CI#150 august 23

Hard to believe, but colour INKspiration is #150 this week. I've been lucky enough to be part of this beautiful group since the beginning. What a lot of lovely challenges and amazing creations we've shared with you.  This week is another gorgeous combination and I have had fun lightly sponging and colouring with a mix of water colour pencils, blending brushes, and blender pens.  I have had fun creating with the Paper Florist dies. There's no right or wrong, just cut a stack of pieces and layer them up however you like. A birthday cake seems totally appropriate. We'd love to see what you create with these bright and happy colours. picture credit:  https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/135882113751928038/ INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Layering Leaves Gatefold card

Fancy folds are such a great way to add extra creative dimension to any card. A GATE FOLD is any fold where 2 flaps fold over the card base - one from either side. The size of the card base determines your finished size. There are many different variations. The flaps can be  -the same size -one large and one small -one full width (Ie height of the card) and one narrow ( less than full height) - any combination that works for you Typically there is a feature element adhered to the front of the "left gate" which overlaps the "right gate" For this card I started with a card base 14.5cm x 21 cm scored at 3cm and 13.5cm The strip of foil is a whisker narrower than 3 cm, and the opposing gate is decorated only with some tone on tone stamping. The feature panel for this card is approx 7 x 10cm and is cut with one of the deckled rectangles, but it can be any size that works for your elements. I wanted something long and tall to accommodate my vase of greenery. The gorgeous
