CI#80

Welcome back for the 80th INKspiration colour challenge. Such soft and pretty colours were perfect for creating a 40th Birthday card for a neighbour. I CASEd a technique I saw recently (although I can't find it again now) using the Peaceful Poppies dies and spritqing with water and ink to mould the paper and create a 3D flower. The flower is pink on pink with a purple posy layer as the thinlit on top. The leaves are both pieces of Soft Sea Foam but one is sponged with ink over the cardstock for a deeper layer, and the background is stamped with soft sea foam also before being run through the embossing folder. The glimmer paper is retired as are the big number framelits but they were perfect for the statement for this card. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Social Stamping- a travelling we will go

Welcome back to Social Stamping with the theme of "Travel" As with all of Kelly's themes during Social Distancing there are many ways you can look at these themes. We were supposed to have a holiday in NZ at Easter but that was cancelled. Our son lives in Sydney and we were supposed to go and travel to see him but that is also cancelled for now.  but.....On the up side travel is now allowed within Qld so it seems we have a lot of family looking forward to travelling out of the South East Corner and heading up to Rockhampton to visit us in the next few weeks. I'm so excited to have them come home. So my card this week is about family and road trips...... I'm certain we will go to the beach at Emu Park and Yeppoon, if we can we may get over to Keppel Island.  These are my thankyou cards I'll have ready to post to them once they are home again- now that I have discovered you can post the shaker cards in our Acetate Boxes ( as a medium letter for 2 stam

CI#79 Second Card using Lovely You

Well I couldn't decide which card to use for this week's colour challenge so I decided to share them both. This version uses the gorgeous Lovely You stampset which is super simple to use, and creates lots of different styles of cards from simple to detailed. This version has single colours in rows with some of the image stamps. I do love this sentiment And I had to finish off with a tiny fussy cut flower which was easy to colour using markers. Don't forget to share a picture of what you create too using these great colours. Just pop a photo on our Facebook page at Colour INKspiration, I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

CI#79 Rich and Regal colours for another Jar of Flowers and an exciting postage discovery.

This week we have a really rich colour palette which did challenge me! I don't usually use such strong colours together so to tone it down I painted a piece of watercolour paper with the Navy, Blackberry and Merlot and used the framelits to cut out several leaves using the gorgeous Forever Fern and Forever Flourishing framelits.  I punched out a second jar then held it in the punch to make it shorter. This was then painted and sponged to give some depth. I just love the shaker filled with sparkly bits! I was super excited to discover that the card will fit inside our Acetate Boxes (p152 of the New Catalogue), which means that you can post your gorgeous shaker card. In Australia the box is classed as a medium letter and will require 2 postage stamps instead of 1. It's really that easy! So for $1.22 for the box and $2.20 for postage it's not expensive to post something really special. Here's what's left of my watercolour piece -I even have

Social Stamping with Kelly Celebrating the "NEW"

Well it's the week of the new Catalogue and lots of new products are out there to play with. I am still totally in love with the jar punch. And last week I showcased the cute shaker domes that are available. This week I am using just the punched out jar, and I've cut the flowers from the cute floral DSP in the suite.  It makes it easy to layer up a lovely bouquet even using the half images at the edges of the paper. Fussy cutting is not for everybody but I quite like it from time to time. I'm sure the new Memories and More cards and envelopes are going to be a big hit, they are so easy to use, and the printed lining on the envelopes just looks fabulous. Kelly's social stamping this week has the them of new(normal). I look forward to seeing how everyone else has interpreted the theme. Next up this week is Siobahn I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Something old, something new....

A girl can never have too many flowers! and I love the new Jar Punch which is coming in the new catalogue and will be available to order from Wed June 3. As a demonstrator one of the perks is being able to purchase a selection of new products before they are released and I have been having fun with this beautiful punch and the super easy adhesive jars. I have teamed it here with some other beautiful felt flowers for a very quick and easy project which packs a big wow factor. With the current annual catalogue retiring in only a few days it's important to stock up on those items that you love because they won't be available after June 2nd. Some items have already sold out. I fell in love with the "For the Love of Felt" kit purely because of the flowers. They are still available but you'll have to hurry. Don't miss out on the last chance products. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post someth
