Creating Mother's Day cards is always fun- I love making something soft and feminine. I have had a big weekend creating using up bits and pieces from the top of my desk which seem to have been accumulating. It's a good feeling to bring odd pieces together and see where they take you. I had these few poppies left over and I have tried to use them many times before but today they found their home. I adhered the large heart over a square doily and trimmed off the corners. I was loosely inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #483, and by the colours in the inspiration pic from As You See It challenge #249, although I will confess I thought the pink was softer - I have used Petal Pink and Blushing Bride here - I only realised it was Flirty Flamingo later. I did add some So Saffron ink into the watercolour and it definitely improved the poppies. None the less I am happy with the finished card.
