Sunshine and Sprinkles thankyou set for JAI#283

A quick little set of thankyou notecards using the gorgeous Sunshine and Sprinkles paper which is on the Clearance rack at the moment. Its's great value and if you would like a set for yourself please get in touch - or you can order it yourself online using the Shop Now button on the right of this page. I used the fabulous easy sketch from JAI#283 and these came together in no time. There's 2 of each and they are packaged up in a vellum envelope wrapped in more gorgeous Paper. I used the Crumb Cake Notecards and Envelopes which are also great value and work out to about 50c for the card and envelope.  I embossed each of the card fronts for a little extra detail. CTC#41 Christmas section

Welcome back to the Friday bloghop around the CTC crew. I struggle with making Christmas cards so far out from November (OK I know it's not really that far....) However I had fun making this week's entry. I focused on the layout on the top left of the front page of the section. (page 67 in the catalogue) I love the wreath options in the stampsets available now and the matching Framelits but sadly I don't own either of them so I had to create another wreath. I like to find alternative uses for stamp sets I already own, and the beautiful set Awesomely Artistic is perfect for this. Using both the fern images and one layer of Mint Macaron and one of Garden Green I laid down a nest of ferns around a circle I had drawn in pencil. These images work really well for this because they are both already curved images.  This is a technique I have done in Christmas cards in the past and it works quite well, you can see some older samples  here  - one using Gorgeous Grun...

FMS#178 a shaker card

The sketch from Fresly Made Sketches made me think straight away of a card I saw recently which was made by Bronwyn Eastley which I have been wanting to try. So I did!  It should have been a lot faster but I just couldn't get anything to work properly the first time. Anyway, I wanted to make a shaker card and finally got all the right pieces in the right places. I used the Sale-A-bration Set You Brighten My Day , Lost Lagoon and Pistachio Pudding cardstock and ink, Spring Flowers Embossing Folder , the Shaker frames adhesive rims and window sheets cut with the circles framelits , and the wonderful HelloYou thinlits dies. The shaker contains some small beads and sequins from the In Colour Sequins Assortment. I would have liked to add glitter but that seemed a dangerous option given how everything else went wrong initially. Maybe next time… Some Lost lagoon bakers twine was separated to give thinner threads and used to stitch on a little button a...

Butterfly thinlits so Beautiful to use

The first of my card classes for this year will be next weekend, and after wondering where to start I think a butterfly theme is calling me.  So this is a sample of the type of thing we will be making. 19/02 Edit to post. Well I'm so amazed but this card has been on the Leaderboard on Stampin Connection and was the top sample for a while. I am touched. And after requests for details I am adding those here. The card base is Soft Sky , as is the ring which I cut using 2 different sizes of the Circles Thinlits . The layers of Cardstock are Sahara Sand and Naturals White. I stamped images on the Naturals White  Cardstock first using Soft Sky and Sahara Sand from the Kinda Eclectic set, and also with the Dictionary background stamp. I then ran this piece through the big shot using the Lovely Lace Embossing folde r ( which I love).  Using the butterflies thinlits I cut the lacy butterfly from Sahara Sand and sponged the edges of this using soft sky, (and I thi...

Circle Thinlits Cards with a Sneak Peak from Kinda Eclectic, SUO98

Have been playing with the circle thinlits framelits preparing for a workshop at the upcoming Central Queensland Craft Expo, and have been enjoying using the set to be released soon called "Kinda Eclectic". It's a really versatile set and I love it. I am of course a bit partial to leaves so this is a great set for me, and I am finding the other elements really easy to use in all sorts of designs. The first one- for the class uses Island Indigo and Pistachio Pudding And the second has a fold out extension and uses WisteriaWonder and Coastal Cabana on Crumb Cake card stock, and I also used the Daydream Medallions as a background stamp on the Newsprint DSP (retired), so I am also entering this in the SUO challengeSUO #98 SUO98 Background Stamping with Daydream Medallions

JAI#213

Love this inspiration picture. Here's my take on it. I don't use chevrons too often so that was a challenge for me - the circle thinlits flip card has a chevron shape in it so I used that on the Pink Pirouette cardstock and layered the gold glimmer paper behind it. The pink still seemed too strong so I layered some vellum over the top to tone it down a bit. The little flowers I made using the scallop flower shape from the Boho Blossoms Punch cut into a spiral . ( I tried the spiral flower die with tissue but it was a disaster this time..., and the cardstock spiral seemed too big, maybe next time…) The pale blue sequins are leftover from an old dancing costume adventure and they seemed the perfect colour. The Mr & Mrs is heat embossed with gold onto White Shimmer Paper, and of  course seam binding ribbon, buttons and Linen thread. thanks for looking, Liz
