CI#120 Farewell to In Symmetry and some favourite colours

As the end of the Annual Catalogue approaches I just had to use this lovely set one last time. Our colours this week include 2 retiring favourites too - Misty Moonlight and Just Jade. I will really miss these two.  For my square cards I used the Stamparatus to do some "stamping in the round". It took quite a bit of experimenting to get the stamps in the right spot, and while not perfect I was happiest with this result. The central flower was fussy cut and mounted on a polished pink circle. I left this one without a sentiment for simplicity This version needed to be trimmed down as I wasn't happy with the border effect. The just jade background works well to focus your attention on the leaf motif.  The stamped and punched Flowers of Friendship are also geometric with only 4 petals so I thought this worked well with the layout.  Picture credit  https://unsplash.com/photos/Ct1Mx5OTn9A  My cards are 11.5cm square- a nice change from regular dimensions. Sneak Peak new set coming next week - Bottled Happiness

Well it's nearly here- the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue. From May 3 it will be live with 5 new IN colours and lots of gorgeous new stampsets and coordinating papers, tools and embellishments. I was lucky enough to receive the Bottled Happiness set as part of attending an online event and I had  bit of fun creating with it already. The sweet bottle and bouquet is a 2 step photopolymer stampset with a coordinating punch and other accessories. Here are 3 different styles using the set I'll have more soon so keep checking back. If you need a copy of the new catalogue please reach out and I will happily send you one. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Happy Easter packaging with CI#119 colours

Happy Easter to you all. Hope it is relaxed and filled with special moments with family and friends. I have taken the colour challenge this week as inspiration for decorating my little Easter Egg packages. Using isopropyl rubbing alcohol and a few drops of each of the challenge colours, along with a few drops of white shimmer paint (sadly now retired) I mixed up 4 containers and spritzed the egg cartons in a random pattern. Calypso Coral, Magenta Madness, Fresh Freesia and Pool Party made a lovely palette. Such a fresh and pretty combination. I decorated 3 boxes with the different colours and also spritzed a sheet of Shimmery White cardstock which I then cut up into 2" strips for the tags. To finish them off I simply added some gold foil by smearing some Tombow glue in lines and swirls on the carton, waited until it was tacky and brushed some gold flakes over the areas with adhesive. If I knew it was this easy I may have been gilding everything in recent times! Such a simple techn

Cactus Cuties Class card - easy layout and an alternative image

I recently held 2 classes using a few different stampset but one of them was the Cactus Cuties bundle. Everyone loved the crisp, clean images and the bold feel of the stamp set- and the ease of using it with the punch.  It's a simple layout and I have to say I was inspired by Brenda Quintana at Qbees Quest for the design. It is a great way to feature a small panel of DSP without it being overpowering. It's always fascinating how altering colours alone can change a card completely. I also stepped up one version with a stencilled base, a matted square focal piece which was dry embossed anda  brightly coloured pot. And as an alternative version with the Oceanfront Stamp Set it also works well. Same layout different stampset for a different feel. The Oceanfront stampset-  super quick and easy to use. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Cactus Cuties Bundle [ 158058 ]
