different colour poppy background stamping - JAI#489 and CTS#356

I was having so much fun creating backgrounds with my Poppy stamp ( see the card here ) that I created another panel using Bermuda Bay. It seemed a good idea to cut it into strips for the sketch challenge at Case This Sketch this week, and I even finally had time to play along with Just Add Ink. - Choosing and Using only 3 colours is quite hard for me. But I settled on Bermuda Bay, Blueberry Bushel (these 2 were easy choices) and then challenged myself with Daffodil Delight. My dark to light wasn't as obvious once I cut the strips but I think it still works. The flower is from the Forever Blossoms Set, the blue sprig is from Botanical Tags, and the painted leaf sprays are from the new Birthday Cake thinlits, and of course the gorgeous Butterfly is from Positive Thoughts(new in the mini catalogue now). You can see what products I used here https://lillylovespaper.blogspot.com/2020/01/caseing-myself-and-pinching-bronwyns.html Thanks for stopping by today,I enj

CASEing myself and pinching Bronwyn's Colour INKspriation combo for tgifc#247.

Who doesn't love a colour challenge? At Colour INKspiration we are celebrating our 3rd Birthday hop with a new idea- we each chose our 3 favourite colours! That was a huge challenge itself. Once I saw everyone else's creations and colour palettes I started to get "colour envy" thinking oh those are some of my favourites, why didn't I choose those?  So I challenged myself to recreate a card using someone else's palette, and this week it is Bronwyn! I didn't recreate it exactly, but I used the original card as inspiration.- I CASE'd myself!  and this is Bronwyn't colour combo This was my card for the birthday bloghop  and this is the stepped down version we made at classes-  so this is the version I CASE'd and one more alternative version. They are such pretty colours together. Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you can join in the colour fun at our Facebook page - use YOUR 3 favourite colours or grab one o

Poppy background stamping for FMS#419 and Inspire.Create Challenge#061

Today is Australia Day. I consider myself so blessed to have the luxury of calling myself an Australian citizen and despite the controversy around the date, and acknowledging that we have terrible events in our history,  I cannot think of a more unique and wonderful place to live. It's a harsh and beautiful land, filled with amazing and diverse people.  I hope your day has seen you feeling grateful for where you live. It's been nice to have some time to relax and I was able to complete this card for a few challenges. For both Freshly Made Sketches challenge #419, and the colours from Inspire.Create Challenges#061 It's been so long since I used Early Espresso, I had forgotten how nice it can be. I had few old sheets of DSP, and I think I've never used them because they were brown and white - so I used my sponge brayer and inked all over them with flirty Flamingo to make pink and brown paper. What a difference, Now I can see what to do with them! When I first sta

January card classes- Poppies of course.

It was lovely to get back to classes last weekend- always good to create with others, away from the busyness of life. The morning class used the Peaceful Poppies suite.  Their kit included DSP which was packaged up in a converted Manilla Folder, and we had biscuits packaged up in Poppy theme too. Name tags double as kit ID We had fun playing with the poppies elements and a little bit of watercolouring the poppies using an aquapainter. Everyone received half a pack of the amazing Peaceful Poppies Elements which are super easy to use. As always I do samples showing other ideas on ways to use the items we are using in today's class. Here's a few more samples using the elements. I'll post the afternoon class photos separately.  I think everyone had fun - I know I did. If you would like to order any of these amazing products now is a great time to get your hands on them.  You can get free products with your ord

Layered with Kindness stampset , a few more samples

Layering with Kindness stampset. We will be using this lovely set in class this weekend so I just thought I'd share a few more samples of what you can make with it.   You can see my CI#70 3rd Birthday Blog hop sample here . I found a great sample tucked away on page 64 of the January to June Mini Catalogue and had to CASE it!  The catalogue has so many great images to get you going when you aren't sure where to start- especially when it's a new set and there aren't any Pinterest samples out there yet! I've used Mint Macaron , Flirty Flamingo, Vanilla  and a touch of navy. The white seam binding ribbon is super soft and I coloured it with my stampin pad and some water- that's what caught my eye initially in the Catalogue. I added the little pink detail behind the label for a bit more zing. The label is white heat embossed onto Mint and then sponged with more Mint to add a bit more depth of colour. Don't you just love that leaf image.   S

CI#70 Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to our Big Birthday Bash - can you believe that it's been 3 years since we started creating for this Blog Hop? 11th January 2017 We are each using our favourite colours - it was incredibly difficult to narrow that down to only 3??  Of course I had to include green and blue - but which ones?? Eventually this is my choice, Navy, Lipstick and Shaded Spruce I had to use some new stamps for this project and I had an enjoyable afternoon playing with the new Layered with Kindness set. I immediately fell in love with the leaf image, but it took me a little longer to find the right way to use the smaller images. It has 3 different sentiments which is useful and coordinates with 2 new punches.  The large label punch is great. You can also use the Timeless Label Punch as I've done on the front. It also pairs nicely with the Delightful Tag Topper behind it as well. I love the versatility of mixing old and new products, thanks Stampin' Up1 for providing us with
