Easel Card for Valentine's

Just a quick post of a standing Easel card. These are great because they fold flat for posting but stand up for display. I sell a lot of these at the Markets, but I could design a class for you around this type of card if you like. No red hearts here - just a simple little wooden accent heart and some gorgeous paper. Here is the card folded for posting  and here it is standing up. thanks for looking,  To cut only the half circle you use the "partial die cutting technique". There are lots of video tutorials on how to to do this, but essentially you place the top acrylic plate only where you want the framelit to actually cut and leave the remainder of the shape uncovered by the plate. This means there will be no pressure from the rollers going over the uncovered cutting surface. If you would like to see a video with the instructions for how to make this card you can click on t his link. I have CASE'd Debbie Henderson. and remember  "don't...

Christmas Gift Card Class - making sets of notecards to give away

This weekend I held a class where participants made 2 little sets of notecards, boxed up and ready to give away. Single pot plant from Gift from the Garden coloured with markers. cut using Stitched Sirdcle Framelits, note the 1/2" strip of DSP from the envelopes. I was fortunate to have enough of these fabulous retired boxes for everyone to parcel up their packs, but there are plenty of other packaging options You could make a larger envelope using the envelope punch board You could make a box using a sturdy card like the Kraft cardstock and the Envelope Punch Board. - I often use the Box Buster by The Crafty Owl, you can find this fabulous tool for calculating the size of card you need and the score lines here . Joanne has created this great site and allows anyone to use it You could use the Kraft Tag and Bag  you could use the Mini Treat Thinlits and create a bag At any rate, a set of cards is always a sweet gift. I had created several options but they ...

Swirly Bird thankyou

My friend is leaving Australia and asked me to make her some Thankyou cards. If you follow my blog you will know that my signature card is 41/2 square with a matching handmade envelope. I found some 12 x12 DSP which is a perfect floral for the Swirly Bird set so I had fun putting this together. The sentiment is from Thoughtful Branches and is heat embossed in copper on a strip of vellum,  and the cute little swirls on the envelope label are from the new set Here's to Cheers from the new Holiday Catalogue. I have been using it quite a bit, it's so sweet. thanks for looking,   Liz

Marbled background for FMS#253

In an effort to use up bits and pieces (of which I always seem to have a ton) I put together this card using some remnants from a shaving cream marbling class that I held a while ago. The stamped leaves are from Thoughtful Branches and were lying on my desk, and the cork remnant is from a very old Sale a Bration bundle. The card base is Dapper Denim and it is one of the few new products used here!!!  the other is the copper foil for the sihouette leaf (also thoughtful branches), and the enamel dots. My trademark handmade matching envelope is Wild Wasabi froma retired pack of DSP, and he corrugated White card is also retired. so I think I have done quite well using up quite a collection of old bits. the sketch from  FMS worked well for this. thanks for looking,  Liz

Thoughtful Branches wedding card

I was asked to make a wedding card in pink tones and I was keen to use the Thoughtful Branches tree die for this because it is so stunning. The leaves behind are stamped with Pink Pirouette using the tree leaves from the  Sheltering Tree set which is just a little softer than the leaves from the Thoughtful Branches set. The real truth however is that I was in a hurry and it was the easiest set to grab!!! The heart is punched out from White Glimmer Paper and because I was in haste I used some cute little resin birds which were in my stash. The thoughtful branches set has 2 adorable birds that also face each other but I was pushed for time. The sentiments are from Confetti Celebration and on the inside from Gut Greetings. This set is only available until the end of August so get in quick to add it to your collection. It really is stunning. Thanks so much for looking, Liz

This week   Bec   is preceding me on the blog so welcome if you have come from her page. This week we are using the samples from the CHRISTMAS section from pages 26-37.  I was inspired by the gift box made form Music Paper on page 26. So I made a few boxes.  The first was a little tricky but looks pretty, though now I've tied the ribbon  it will stay empty for a while...The instructions are from an old blog post in Dutch which even when translated are a bit tricky. -  and my box looks slightly different! As it happens I have co...
