Get Well Card for Kelly's Social Stamping bloghop - Hope you're not feeling Boho Indigo blue

Welcome back for Kelly's August blog hop where the theme this month is  "Get Well".  I don't tend to make too many of these style of cards but I guess the notion of "feeling better" doesn't have to mean sickness. To be honest I instantly feel better whenever I receive a handmade card! I do a little skip from the post box to the front door! So I have been trying to send them more frequently, hoping I make others feel a little better too. This means that I like to use tried and true card designs that are easy to mass create. Another trick is to use lots of papers that coordinate without having to think about it too much. Stampin' Up! makes that easy, and the Boho Indigo set of papers are literally The Best Ever! I love these colours, and all the designs go together so I have made a stack of mix and match cards. I love Lou's Bay Window card and this came together really quickly. I have posted some other versions back on Mother's Day  here , and ...

CI#88 Fancy Fold using Tag Punches for Christmas

Well it's almost the end of October which means time to start preparing for Christmas....(I know- right?!)  I have a full day Christmas Card Class this Saturday and it will be great to get together with so many of my stamping friends as its been a long time.  I always like to have a good display of samples using the current products for these events and I'm excited to share some of them with you next week, but it was a good excuse to use this week's colours to stretch my Christmas theme. I had fun playing with the cute little gnomes from the Gnome for the Holidays set. I also wanted to showcase some alternative uses for the Tag Topper Punches as we'll be using them too. If you follow me you will know that I love a fancy fold and I have been wanting to try this design for a while, so Thankyou CI for letting me bring all those things together- Colours, Christmas, Tag Punch, Fancy Fold, new stampset!Yay Aren't these colours gorgeous. So back to my fancy fold- It...

CI#87 Counting my blessing with a Double Front Card

Well it's been a while since I created just for the joy of creating rather than a project for an obligation- and what a nice day I've had! I found this double flap card and loved the layout so I created one using the gorgeous colours for this challenge. I took the inspiration very literally and used the fabulous pear image. I've been wanting to create with this set but it's taken me weeks to get ink onto the stamps. The dimensions for this card are imperial, (I found them here on Brenda's blog) so once I had made one I redesigned it for metric measurements which you can find on yesterday's post. I also think this would be a great layout for using up some DSP - but that will have to wait for another day! When you open the first card front this is what you see, I applied the colour to the pear stamp using both sponge daubers and stamp'n write markers. Inside is just very pale (3rd generation) stamping to write over. You can get an idea of the layout from abov...

Fancy Phrases and a Fancy Fold

I have had a lovely day just creating and found a great new Fancy Fold - of course it was in imperial so I have redesigned it in metric measurements. I created this card using the lovely Fancy Phrases set which allowed for some very simple stamping and sponging, it was quite quick to create once I had all the pieces cut.  When you open the first card front it is lovely to have that pop of colour from the DSP,  and the little strip under the base of the inner card is a great hint of colour to tie it all together and add a bit of interest. I will have another sample tomorrow using the great colour palette from Colour INKspiration- and I have some ideas for Christmas cards too. I hope you'll give this great fold a try. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz
