Well if you follow me you know I love both Fancy fold Cards and cards that use DSP. The double front card which I have done a few times now is perfect for both these goals. It's Kelly's social stamping monthly bloghop and this is my project. I didn't really notice the Pierced Blooms dies in the Jan-Jun catalogue at first.  I'm not sure the catalogue does them justice- and I don't think my photos will either, but they are absolutely gorgeous.I din't purchase the stampset but you can use the dies as a stand alone product as they contain so much gorgeous detail. This month Kelly has challenged us to create using the BRIGHTS palette. It's so nice to be a part of this casual friendly group of amazing crafters - keeps me motivated and connected; and it's great to be using the Brights.They are always fun happy colours. I have had a greeting card pinned to my noticeboard for many many years and although I don't adhere to its beautiful advice all the time I do love to read it and be reminded to slow down. It seemed these blossoms were the perfect way to preserve it. Being very old the card has a few blemishes but that's ok, ...

I've had so much fun playing with the Pretty Perennials stamp set. This little gift set started with a single sheet of vanilla cardstock which I stamped randomly with the 4 colours of the challenge.  I used the gorgeous colour combination from CTC#94. I love blues but don't often use oranges, so it always surprises me how much I love the effect when I sue them. Do you have similar colour experiences? The piece of 5 3/4" x 5 3/4 was stamped randomly and then cut into 4 equal squares 27/8" x 27/8.  Before I cut the piece I spritzed it all over with alcohol and Frost white shimmer paint, it looked so sparkly and pretty. Each card is embellished very simply with either navy twine or linen thread and the simple "For You" sentiment from the same set. The sequins from the Artistry Blooms are gorgeous colours and match the Mango so well. I did use the thinlits to cut out some flowers to decorate the top of the Mini Pizza Box.  I love playing along with Just Add Ink- there is such variety in their challenges and this week is inspiration from a picture. This card is similar to one I shared recently using the gorgeous flowers from the Strawberry Punch. I added in some vellum and acetate elements that were sitting on my desk, but I love the addition of the pink butterfly - created with thinlits from the new Butterfly Gala suite which will be available March 2nd, they are so fine and intricate- delicate like the real thing!
