CTC#71 Easter Chocolate Sliders

Welcome back for another CASEing the Catty Sunday night bloghop.

This week we are creating Easter projects - appropriately! and taking inspiration from any of the Catalogues. If you are on the hop you will have come from the fabulously talented Jess.

I am drawing my inspiration from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue and the gorgeous vellum gift bag on page 5.
I love Easter Eggs but a block of beautiful chocolate makes a lovely gift and the Chocolate Slider is an oldy but a goodie when it comes to packaging.  I recently made a heap of these and sold them at The Handmade Expo Markets. They are great because you can decorate them all individually.
So for this week's post I have created a few more. The beautiful marble paper from the Sale-a Bration catalogue was perfect but sadly I have run out.... so I experimented with some other patterned paper and was quite happy with those results too. I heat embossed the sentiment on the paper for a bit more punch, I replaced the white tea doily with the foil doily instead- or a circle of plain foil- and I had to raid the bottom of the ribbon bag to find some lengths to fit the chocolate bars. The chevron ribbon is perfect for these if you have enough.
These are super easy and quite quick to put together, so if your Easter packaging is behind schedule you can whip up a few of these in a flash. You can decorate them with whatever is lying on your desk -or empty a few bits out of the "Useful Box" ( a favourite term revived from Playschool days when the kids and I did lots of craft!, before they all grew up and left home.... so excited that they will all be home for Easter; ),and they definitely are awesome!)

The top of the doily kept twisting so I used the trusty metallic washi tape and applied it all the way around the top of the box with it folded over the top to make it a bit stronger. Super simple!

With some experimenting you can work out the dimensions to fit any block of chocolate. These are for a block of Lindt chocolate and will allow a little bit of slide room.

The measurements are in imperial because the scoring plate has more grooves and allows a more precise fit.
Cut a piece of DSP 6-7/8" x 7-5/8'  (17.5 x 19.5cm)
Score at 3-1/8,  3-5/8,  6-3/4 and 7-1/4
Rotate and score at 1/2" along base
Cut tabs for base
Punch hole at top for ribbon- 3/4" circle punch works well, leave about 1/2" from the paper edge to the top of your hole.
Decorate front as desired before assembly.
Adhere side flap, and base tabs
cut ribbon length at approx 19" (45cm)
Thread ribbon through holes from front to back so that equal lengths of ribbon extend either side of paper, slide block of chocolate down into the holder with ribbon loop under the base of the block. Tie securely at the top of the block of chocolate with a shorter lenthg of contrasting ribbon. You decorate the closure with a tag of other embellishment  (see the market picture for more ideas).

I hope you and your family have a Happy and Peaceful Easter and that you are able to spend some time together relaxing. I am last on the hop so you will be back to the start with Judy when you click on the Next button.

    1. Thanks Julia, the washi was one of those accidents - something to hold it together where the glue didn't quite catch, but I like it too!

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car

#Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
