CI#33 Rustic Honey Bouquet

Such gorgeous colours- and while the inspiration picture is quite rustic I have given it a slightly more modern feel- thanks to one of my new favourite bundles- the Varied Vases designed by Mary Fish. Super cute.

I have to say at the outset that the inspiration for this card came from an image on a blog hop somewhere. You can see the video by Aude Barbara here - it's in French but you can easily follow along.
I generally create from a blank start but sometime the business of life takes over and we all need a little CASeing every now and then to achieve our deadlines ( and keep our sanity!). Life seems to have been busier than usual lately here, so hope you'll forgive me for caseing the technique but the layout is definitely "me".

Auda uses only a blender pen and Watercolour Paper. My pen must be a bit dry because I was unable to get the same coverage using just the ink from the stamped image. I used the blender pen but also used some additional ink smooshed onto a clear block as my palette.
I love the depth you can achieve with the blender pen and the watercolour paper gives a nicer finish than regular card or shimmer for this project.

My first version below used vases in different colours but I prefer the card above with them all the same.

I was enjoying the process so I also created a set using the coming brand new In Colours. I think I'm in love with Lovely Lipstick!

Next on the hop this week is Monique

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
Don't forget we'd love to see what you create using the same colours . You can share your projects on our Facebook page.

"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

  1. WOW! Your cards are awesome! I love this colouring technique - it will have to go on the Must Do list (and not the list that says maybe one day.....!). The vases look spectacular done this way. Great cards Liz, and love all the colour variations, but my favourite is the first one!!

  6. Casing a technique is a great way to take pressure off Liz, sometimes we all need that little kickstart. It's definitely a Liz creation though and so pretty in the various colour ways. xx

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
