CI#91 Wishing you a Fabulous Colourful Christmas

It's the last colour INKspiration post for the year - #91 - and what a feast of colour we have for you this week. This challenge runs for 5 weeks so you will have plenty of time to join in.  Like most of you I'm guessing that there are deadlines a plenty and not enough hours in the day- I had lots of ideas but ran out of time to experiment so came back to a simple design for my card. I love the triangle elements but in the end I was inspired by the multicoloured bauble wreath. I used the amazing bubble stamp image from the butterfly set Beauty Abounds to repeatedly stamp the 3 greens in a circle.  It's one of the most useful stamps I own. The overlay of colours worked quite well to give some depth to my wreath. I had a circle larger than I needed and used some of the layering circle framelits to cut out a disc. Some retired ribbon, a little silver star to decorate and some glittery bling to finish it off. And of course the fabulous Peace and Joy set for sentiments. I tied m...

Merry & Bright Social Stampin Blog hop with Kelly

Hello and welcome to the Merry & Bright Social Stamping blog hop with Kelly. It's been such a crazy year I thought I would share some Christmas Cards created with a bright and crazy colour scheme to bring some cheer! These are some cards I made as samples for my Christmas Card Class to show some alternative ways to use the Merry and Bright Stamp set which was included as part of the kit for the class. Some of the designs are CASED directly from Pinterest and you may have seen them around. They include a few different techniques. For the Magenta card I have applied the ink using a dauber directly to the stamp before stamping. By using the Stamparatus you can add more layers of ink to increase the intensity. To create the layered circles behind you need to cut 2 circles of each colour ( in 2 different sizes- pair the largest and smallest circles together, and then pair the 2 sizes in between)and you will end up with 2 card layouts.  In this layout the semi-circle layers are besid...

CI#90 Only 4 weeks till Christmas

Hello again, hard to believe it's the 25th of November already- Christmas is certainly approaching fast. But even though it's soon, I am not sharing a Christmas card today, but I am inspired by the beautiful colours in this week's inspiration pic. I had to have a little play with a new stampset coming in January. The colours for this week are Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party and Pretty Peacock- a delightful combination.  I have used the first four for a watercolour wash using the smoosh technique of ink on an clear block, spritzed with water and smooshed onto some Shimmery White cardstock. Then I stamped the gorgeous flowers in Memento Black and the sentiment in Peacock, with a few peacock splatters from flicking the pen against the inside of the pen lid- an old technique but a good one. The painted panel is on a pool party mat embossed with the Subtle folder and I added a few rhinestones for sparkle of course. The tiny strip trimmed from the edge wa...

Curvy Celebrations new products make Christmas so easy

It's a big week in the Stampin' Up! Calendar so I'm just going to take it one day at a time- and one promotion at a time. The curvy thinlits were perfect for another version of the Acetate Tent Card - directions and links on this page . I've used the thinlit wiht the decorative edge on the Whisper White, and the thinlit with the little holes on the red foil which sits underneath. This week the Curvy Celebrations Suite has become available to customers. Demonstrators get the benefit of an early purchase so we can play with the products first, and create some samples to share. I have been waiting for curved edge thinlits  for such a long time it was a snap for me to add these to my collection. (If you would like the benefit of being an early purchaser too you are very welcome to join my team of papercrafters.) I created some samples to share at my Christmas Card Class last weekend so now I can share them with you too. so What's in the curvy celebrations bundle- 2 s...

Get Well Card for Kelly's Social Stamping bloghop - Hope you're not feeling Boho Indigo blue

Welcome back for Kelly's August blog hop where the theme this month is  "Get Well".  I don't tend to make too many of these style of cards but I guess the notion of "feeling better" doesn't have to mean sickness. To be honest I instantly feel better whenever I receive a handmade card! I do a little skip from the post box to the front door! So I have been trying to send them more frequently, hoping I make others feel a little better too. This means that I like to use tried and true card designs that are easy to mass create. Another trick is to use lots of papers that coordinate without having to think about it too much. Stampin' Up! makes that easy, and the Boho Indigo set of papers are literally The Best Ever! I love these colours, and all the designs go together so I have made a stack of mix and match cards. I love Lou's Bay Window card and this came together really quickly. I have posted some other versions back on Mother's Day  here , and ...

CI#88 Fancy Fold using Tag Punches for Christmas

Well it's almost the end of October which means time to start preparing for Christmas....(I know- right?!)  I have a full day Christmas Card Class this Saturday and it will be great to get together with so many of my stamping friends as its been a long time.  I always like to have a good display of samples using the current products for these events and I'm excited to share some of them with you next week, but it was a good excuse to use this week's colours to stretch my Christmas theme. I had fun playing with the cute little gnomes from the Gnome for the Holidays set. I also wanted to showcase some alternative uses for the Tag Topper Punches as we'll be using them too. If you follow me you will know that I love a fancy fold and I have been wanting to try this design for a while, so Thankyou CI for letting me bring all those things together- Colours, Christmas, Tag Punch, Fancy Fold, new stampset!Yay Aren't these colours gorgeous. So back to my fancy fold- It...

CI#87 Counting my blessing with a Double Front Card

Well it's been a while since I created just for the joy of creating rather than a project for an obligation- and what a nice day I've had! I found this double flap card and loved the layout so I created one using the gorgeous colours for this challenge. I took the inspiration very literally and used the fabulous pear image. I've been wanting to create with this set but it's taken me weeks to get ink onto the stamps. The dimensions for this card are imperial, (I found them here on Brenda's blog) so once I had made one I redesigned it for metric measurements which you can find on yesterday's post. I also think this would be a great layout for using up some DSP - but that will have to wait for another day! When you open the first card front this is what you see, I applied the colour to the pear stamp using both sponge daubers and stamp'n write markers. Inside is just very pale (3rd generation) stamping to write over. You can get an idea of the layout from abov...
