Just Add INk #500 add a die cut word

Reaching out to friends seems so much more appropriate now that we are all at home so it was an easy pick with which word to use for this challenge.  It is the 500th challenge for Just Add Ink which is one of my favourite challenge blogs so I am really happy I have had a chance to join in this week.

I was keen to have a single word sitting over a block of simple stamping- a much more pared back style than my usual cards, and I also used a lot of yellow, so this was truly a challenge for me. I have die cut the word Friend from both white and black and offset one over the other so that there is an outline affect to highlight the word. I also added a small layer of vellum behind the word to soften the vibrancy of the flowers behind it.

And you have to have a little colour story on the inside to match!

Thanks JAI for all the inspiration over the years.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
