Social Stamping - Birthdays in Isolation

Hello again from Home Isolation! Hope your week has been productive and peaceful. What an incredible thought that we have not had the same horrid medical experience of other countries and that we are perhaps changing isolation restrictions soon.  It is still such an uncertain road ahead.
For those who have had their birthdays in isolation it must certainly have been a different way to celebrate. If that's you I hope it was happy!

We are hopping again tonight with Kelly vie her social stamping blog.

Stampin' Up! has launched a Fundraising initiative with a digital download of sentiments inspired by the Covid-19 Global Pandemic. For $12(US) you can download 15 pages of sentiments and simply print them out at home to decorate your cards. They are bright and fun and easy to use.
I have created a little selection of cards and have more sentiments cut out ready to go. But here is my Birthday Card- pretty simple.  The Sentiment on the front is from my printout- there are 3 of these images in different colours on one of the pages.

As part of my pandemic home organisation I have cleaned out the sewing cabinet and the fabric cupboard and I found a spool of Lovely Lipstick coloured embroidery thread.  Seemed appropriate in this revisited era of "mend and make do" to use it!!
I used Mango Melody and Peaceful Moments to stamp the inside greeting.

I was inspired by Julia Quinn who recently created a stack of cards using the Rip and Flip technique demonstrated recently by Jacqui Williams from NZ which is a technique I'll be using in my group Zoom Sunday class tomorrow. As a healthcare worker I'm still working quite long hours so I'm grateful to all the generous demonstrators who share their tips and measurements which make my life much easier by being able to borrow and share.

I am also entering this into the Inspire. Create #068 challenge this week
If you are interested in the digital download you can purchase it here-
you choose which charity the funds go to but you can print it for yourself as many times as you like.

It works best printed on cardstock. The directions include the colours used by SU so you can coordinate your papers etc. My printer didn't entirely cooperate but I am happy with the selection I ended up with.

next this week is Mae Collins

If you get lost you can see the full list of participants here at Kelly's blog

I hope you have a creative week,
stay safe, stay connected and stay creative,
and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

  9. Love this! I tried the rip and flip technique too and I loved the look even though I know a lot of demos nearly have a heart attack at the thought of ripping dsp! Haha! That embroidery trim matches in beautifully too.

  10. Such a bright and fun card! Love the reference to 'make to'. I'm sure there's so many lost treasures we all own that would go well on a card. Not sure if I like the idea of cleaning to find it though! Kelly x

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. #Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
