Welcome back - to you and to me! I have had quite a break from tech and it's been good. So now I am attempting to stay ahead of deadlines. SO to get the ball rolling I have been consulting the Catalogue for ideas and inspirations. I quite like one of the cards on page 54 , so I started there.
You'll always find something in the Catalogue to get your creative juices going.
I would love to holiday here! Looks like fun.

The "Hugs for Love" is marketed as a Valentine's Day set - but really it is very versatile. And the fabulous thing is that it has a coordinating punch - To the Point Label Punch. It's fabulous. What's more, there is a second stampset in the Mini Catalogue that also coordinates with the punch - double the value. ( It's called Bright Borders and it is also fabulous )
I've used Petunia Pop to stamp the various hearts. The frame is stamped in Pecan Pie, but the sentiment is heat embossed gold. There is a narrow Pecan Pie as a border. I have also used the new Gold Open Weave Trim as a double layer behind, and wrapped with the Gold Twisted Thread. This adds a nice connection to the gold embossing. I think the twisted thread could be my new favourite thing. The sequins are a Sale A Bration freebie with $100 purchase - the "Purple Adhesive Backed Sequins".
Do you sometimes have trouble getting an even coverage with the ink on photopolymer stamps? I find some inks are easier to work with than others, and if the inkpad is too juicy it can also contribute. I was a little impatient this day and as a quick fix I tried smoothing out the ink with my finger - to my delight I ended up with a marble look to my heart and some fun finger painting into the bargain.
Here's the stamp straight off the inkpad.
Here's the stamp after some finger painting swirling the ink on the stamp.
Here's the comparison with the swirled stamp and the unaltered version.
My best advice for this issue is to make sure of a few things
- make sure the stamp is nice and clean
- condition the stamp by rubbing the surface against your skin a few times to remove any residual oils from the manufacturing process
- use a spoon or soft smooth surface to gently press any excess ink on the stamp to the edges.
- use a stamping mat to provide a soft surface for stamping on
- hold the stamp in place on your project for 3 seconds ( repeat Stamping is wonderful 3 times ) to allow the ink to transfer from the stamp to the paper.
I was having a lot of fun playing with the stamp and punch, and here's an alternative version using some current and some retired products- the Pecan Pie ribbon and the natural elements are both on the Last Chance product list and available at a discount.
The heart border stamp works well stamped in a repeat row for a cute border on the envelope, and I simply layered a few punched paper shapes beside each other for the background.
I hope you consider these products as great options when you are shopping next. You can find them all in my online store. And while Sale a Bration is on you can earn free products when your order is over $100.
Don't forget to share your creations using this fabulous colour palette on our Facebook Group . We'd love to see what you make.
I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz
