Colour INKspiration # 195 Butterflies and a Flap fold card using the Arches Dies

Welcome back for the next instalment of Colour INKspiration - a fortnightly event where we create a project using a specified colour palette and share these in a Facebook group. Members of the design team share their creations and we invite you to also create a project using these colours and share it with us.  This one is #195 and uses only 3 colours- Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate and Black. I'm not a huge fan of Crushed Curry but I enjoyed painting the butterfly with the yellow ink and my Wink of Stella. I did then run it through the 3D Hybrid Embossing Folder and I quite like the sparkle and the detail. I created a card with an Arch Flap for something a little bit different. You can see what I mean as you check out the pictures. It is quite bulky so I used a small velcro dot as a closure which certainly helps.
What a lovely, fresh and clean inspiration picture, I'd love to be able to doodle effectively like that instead of it looking amateur. No matter, I have stamps and ink to do the job for me.

Our guest designer this week is Petra Noeth .
We loved her work in a past challenge
and we are excited to see what she creates for us with this great combination.

A little bit of sparkle and dimension - always good.

When you lift the first flap there is a little surprise second flap hidden underneath.
The sentiment is so easy - punched out of the pre-printed pack of sentiments and raised up on some tiny dimensionals pieces. The colour is from a little bit of sponging.

Inside has a tiny bit of stamping - I'm devastated that the Elements of Text stampset is on the Last Chance list - make sure you've got yours.

There is a tiny bit of text stamped on the top Smoky Slate layer of the Arches flap door. I was fortunate to find this retired DSP which is the perfect colour for the base layer - who said hoarding was problematic? It's essential!

I love the Beautiful Butterflies 3D Hybrid folder and the coordinating stampset.

I took inspiration from Elaine's groovy card for my creation today - but you know how tricky it is when you've seen something online, failed to save it, and then spend ages looking for it again? Well that happened to me for this card. Thankfully, I did find it and was able to use it for this week's project. It was fun to try something different.

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
