Handmade envelopes with re-purposed maps

I rescued these old maps from the rubbish bin when HTW shifted offices. They are quite old and are detailed maps of  lots of local regions in Central Queensland.  I finally began my project of making them into envelopes using the fabulous Envelope Punch Board. They are boxed up in sets of 5 and I am quite happy with the coordinating greeting cards which also have a small strip of map on the front. Thanks for looking, Liz

Using some favourite Art Deco DSP, for FMS#156

Sometimes a favourite piece of paper can inspire a whole range of cards.  I have held onto this lovely piece for a while. I love the Art deco elements in it and the soft colours. Making these cards was also good because I have used up a quite a few bits and bobs that have been on my craft desk for a while- buttons, threads, you know... The very talented Narelle Farrugia has designed the layout at Freshly Made Sketches this week.    I have turned mine into a square card , it uses Lost Lagoon ribbon and ink, and a Night of Navy background. The others pieces are all elements I have been collecting over the years, and then there a few others using the same squares of base DSP but not following the sketch. thanks for looking, Liz

JAI #233 -Sketch Challenge

The sketch Challenge  this week at  Just Add Ink   use s trio of objects- one of my favourite type of layouts.  I have been wanting to do a window card for a while so this was a good opportunity. I have used the beautiful Mossy Meadow as the ink and the highlights. I have used 2 different sized circle punches to achieve the frame effect and the gorgeous "World of Dreams" stamp set.  I love the new Lovely Lace embossing folder design used in the base layer. This panel was lightly sponged with Pistachio Pudding and I love the effect. My sentiment wouldn't quite fit at the bottom so it's just a little tag at the side, with an old fave- the safety pin. Don't forget to check out the JAI website and the design team samples.  Thanks for looking, Liz

SUO #106 fall colours

Well it's spring here in Queensland but I do remember how beautiful Fall is in Northern countries so it was lovely to create using these tones. I am entering this card in the SUO challenges #106. Head over to the Stampin' Up! Only website to see some of the other great cards. I have used So Safron as my base and background DSP colours but have stamped the leaf image using Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry with the pen direct to rubber technique.  It is always fun to get 2 tones on one image. I used some so saffron ink and some of the ink left in the stamps to colour my piece of seam binding ribbon. The great sentiment is from the hostess gift for this month " Good Greetings" And I used up a few embellishments from my stash - wooden button, Cajun craze button, safety pin and timber arrow (from a project life kit). I do love the "World of Dreams" stamp set. It's so,versatile. The inside:  thanks for looking, Liz
