A little bit of Bling - with Something Old and Something New - for GDP083

It's such an exciting time of the Stampin' Up! year with lots of new things coming in the New catalogue. One of the great perks of attending Onstage is the opportunity to buy new products before they are released. There are loads of gorgeous new things coming, and I have featured 2 of those on my card today.

Something Old:
a very old Wedding stamp (the Mr and Mrs is retired but still gorgeous) and I use it a lot for cards at the markets.
Something New:
There are a number of new ribbons coming and they are all stunning. This card uses the new Mini
Chevron ribbon in Old Olive- it is beautiful and soft and also comes in Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry.
The other stunning and very sparkly new product is the Glitter Enamel Dots. These come in graduated sizes AND graduated colours. Each pack contains 40 glitter dots in each of 4 colours- Old Olive, BerryBurst, Crushed Curry and Dapper Denim from a deep shade of the colour up to a very pale shade. You are going to love them!
Something Retiring:
The Falling in Love Embellishments are so pretty and delicate and certainly add some bling to this card.
Something Blue:
The clear skies of a May day for a Beautiful wedding.

I have heat embossed the Mr and Mrs in silver, adhered some burlap ribbon and the olive Mini Chevron ribbon in place. Then 'blinged it up' with some silver metallic thread, the Falling in Love embellishment and the glitter dots. The Kraft card looks nice against some very vanilla card.

Also new is the Color Theory Designer Series Paper stack which is a great 6x6 stack using the same 4 colours in the dots and a range of ombre papers which have a paint sparkle look on the reverse. They are gorgeous. I have used one of the graduated pieces to decorate the envelope flap and of course run it through the embossing folder to give it the formal treatment. I love this simple addition.

I am entering this card in the Global Design Project this week- I have finally had an opportunity to participate again this week.

I have quite a few more projects made using new products which I will share in the next few days.
So be sure and subscribe to my blog by filling in the Follow me by Email box - right below the three  RAINBOW SWIRL BOXES on the right side panel of this page.  That way as soon as I post a new project you will get an email with the pictures of my new projects.  There's some more ombre cards and some more wedding cards coming in some new colours.

Thanks for looking and remember,

Post something pretty"

CTC#86 Everyday is a good day to send a card

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday night blogshop where we use a section of the Catalogue to inspire this weeks projects. Designers can take a layout, a colour combination, or any element as the starting point to create something new. We invite you to tour around the hop and to join in -after all the Catalogue has so many beautiful samples to inspire us all. If you get lost you'll find the full crew here . You may have arrived from Simone , so welcome. And this week we are really excited to welcome 3 new designers to the team, Krissy, Deb and Kelly  please do leave them a comment and welcome. This week we are using the samples from the Everyday Occasions section (which is a huge section) from pages 66-91. Because this is such a big section we will revisit it in a few weeks.  I have chosen the card on page 71 because I have always been attracted to grids.  I have used the gorgeous new By the Shore Designer Series paper, it has such a lovely fres...

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
