CTC Fabulous Hostess Sets!

Hello and Happy Easter to you. I hope you have had a nice weekend - and not too much chocolate-
(Is there even such a thing?) We have 2 of our 3 children home for a few days which is just so nice.

This week we are CASEing from the Hostess section of the catalogue. While I haven't used a specific card for my inspiration I thought I would show you a couple of projects which I made for the  Onstage April 2016 when I was lucky enough to be selected as a display stamper. Fabulous Flora is one of the sets that they sent me to trial. I never did get around to writing all of them up !!!

These cards are monotone highlighting Emerald Envy.
For the first card I used the fig image but I  only stamped the leaves along the top edges of a whisper white panel and coloured them with my aqua painter. I fussy cut a few extra leaves, curled and mounted them and gave them a wink of Stella treatment! I also used the Scoreboard to add a few details with some straight scored lines at both the top and bottom of the card.  I do like the font in this set, it's simple and understated. I also used the small leaf image from Perpetual Calendar because I felt that the same shape leaf echoed the main image - I'm sad this set is retiring, although there are lots of great sets which will be coming soon.

My second sample uses the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to create a vellum bag which I then embossed using the brick folder. You need to be gentle with folding the vellum as it can crack along the score lines.  If that happens you can adjust where your ribbon ties around the bag or use DSP band if needed. The plant image is stamped on the card inside but you can't see the image until you slide the card out. The same image is cut and layered outside using Kraft card.

I do love the little pull tab.

I also made a Sweet Sugarplum and a Peekaboo Peach sample.
You can see a few more samples made with the same set but different images and colour schemes here

Don't forget we love to see what you create using the same pages from the Catalogue as inspiration. You can add a photo of your work on our Facebook Page

Next on the hop this week is Rachel

and before me on the loop is Mel

  1. Liz I love your cards in bags! What a great idea to have the image on the insert line up with the bag! I love all your layers and embellishments on the bag too, really pretty.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car

#Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
