CTC#126 Flowers for Mother's Day

Welcome back this week where we are CASEing the Catty to make a project for Mother's Day. I still find beautiful inspiration in the catalogue every time I look through it and wonder why I haven't noticed certain projects in the past. This was the case with this week's card - although I have CASE'd the gift bag on page 47 of the Annual Catalogue - which is nearly at the end of it's time.

I loved the copper embossing on the brown paper bag, the lace, and the watercolored image on the tag. So using those features and the Falling Flowers Stamp set I created a card suitable for Mother's Day.

I heat embossed the images with white embossing powder on Shimmer White Cardstock and then coloured each flower of leaf with my aqua painter. I was short on time so didn't attempt masking but rather cut each flower with the coordinating framelits and layered them on the tag. I'm so pleased this set is not on the retirement list as I love the flowers.

I had a few blossoms left over so of course I decorated the inside, and I added a few new treats on the front- the Glitter Enamel Dots. The range of colours in each pack is going to make these a must have item in the coming year. Also featuring form the new products is a gorgeous copper trim which is a narrow ribbon but which can be teased out to a whole different look. It's going to be fun to work with too.

Before me this week is the fabulous Kelly

And following me this week is Bronwyn, with another gorgeous creation any mother would love to receive.

Don't forget we'd love to see what you create using the Catalogue as inspiration. Take a photo of your project and load it to our Facebook page and share the joy of creativity with us all.

Thanks so much for looking this week, be sure and hop all the way around the connecting blogs for loads of inspiration.

and remember:
"don't just post online,
post something pretty"

CTC#86 Everyday is a good day to send a card

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday night blogshop where we use a section of the Catalogue to inspire this weeks projects. Designers can take a layout, a colour combination, or any element as the starting point to create something new. We invite you to tour around the hop and to join in -after all the Catalogue has so many beautiful samples to inspire us all. If you get lost you'll find the full crew here . You may have arrived from Simone , so welcome. And this week we are really excited to welcome 3 new designers to the team, Krissy, Deb and Kelly  please do leave them a comment and welcome. This week we are using the samples from the Everyday Occasions section (which is a huge section) from pages 66-91. Because this is such a big section we will revisit it in a few weeks.  I have chosen the card on page 71 because I have always been attracted to grids.  I have used the gorgeous new By the Shore Designer Series paper, it has such a lovely fres...

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
