CTC#136 Grateful for so many things!


Welcome back to a new week - and a big welcome to some new design team members. It's great to have some very talented new card makers on the CTC team. Congratulations to them all, they each contributed over the month of June on our Facebook page. You're going to enjoy seeing their creations as we go forward this year. Be sure and leave some comments on their posts or on our Facebook page to welcome them.  We also have a few Guest Designer spots coming up too. Such a wealth of talent all around us.


Well I am grateful for so many things and while I often feel thankful I know I don't send enough thankyou cards to actually say so. In fact Thankyou cards are usually whipped up in a hurry around here so I can get it posted or delivered before too much time has passed from the event. So I have gone with the quick and easy layouts on the far left of page 131. I also wanted to do a stepped up version showing you that you don;t necessarily need a Bigshot to create more interest in your card. Stampin' Up! produces so many brilliant embellishment options that your possibilities are endless.

It's a simple layout and a great way to show off some of our fabulous DSP. I have used pieces from the Whole Lot of Lovely Suite. It's good to cut into the paper and use it! (hard, but good!). The gorgeous Shimmer Ribbon matches beautifully in Pear Pizazz. I used the 13/4" and 2" circle punches - I'd be lost without mine, and for fast card making they beat the Bigshot.


The stepped up version in the catalogue uses an embossed panel of cardstock - but I challenged myself to NOT use the Bigshot. 
SO...I used the embossing paste and a stencil. Once it was dry I put the mask back in place and sponged the same colour ink over the post - magic! To add a bit more detail I punched 2 extra 2" circle of cardstock and sponged the edges with the same colour ink, ( Powder Pink ink on pink card, and Soft Sky on soft sky card), then layered those and used the same Touches Of Nature Elements as the first version but left them white ( they are easily coloured, or the reverse side is natural timber)

You know the paper is so pretty I think I prefer the simple version!


I have plenty of people who have helped make my week a good week, and these cards will be in the post tomorrow. Who could you send a quick Thankyou to? You know thankyou cards are so unexpected they always make the recipient smile.  Maybe you could whip up one using this layout ( or one of the others in the section of the catalogue) and pop one in the post this week too. Next on the hop this week is Bec, who does such a lot of hard work behind the scene keeping us all focused. She certainly deserves a Thankyou card!
She has a cheeky sense of humour and even suggested this week that I may not be as prepared as I think I am despite all my planning! Guess she knows me well- I may have bluffed my way through a few things in my time - but don't ask me to play poker!

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
