Interactive Card Class Card #2 Squash Fold Card

I was asked to do a class using interactive cards or designs that were more interesting than the simple basic card. Since I always struggle knowing when to stop it's no surprise that of course I took the challenge and amplified it to not 1 but 3 interactive designs. The class was lots of fun and this is one of the projects we made.
This is the front when it is folded

This is the inside when it's opened

This is the way it folds flat - squashing in on itself

This is a squash fold card and I used the brilliant tutorial from Lyssa Zwolanek at Song of My Heart Stampers.
  • My card is a square of cardstock 21cm x 21 cm
  • Score in half at 10.5cm each way to create 4 squares
  • score one diagonal fold from corner to corner
  • DSP is 4inches square - nice and easy with 12 x 12 DSP ( 9 pieces per page)
  • ribbon is approx 40cm- anchored only on the front under the banner.
Song of My Heart sample

This version is the same design but using different DSP from the Whole lot of Lovely Set

This is it opened flat

and tbis is it folding/squashing down flat ready for the envelope

It's a really effective card with a big impact. I hope you give it a try.

Thanks for looking,
and remember

post something pretty!"

CTC#86 Everyday is a good day to send a card

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday night blogshop where we use a section of the Catalogue to inspire this weeks projects. Designers can take a layout, a colour combination, or any element as the starting point to create something new. We invite you to tour around the hop and to join in -after all the Catalogue has so many beautiful samples to inspire us all. If you get lost you'll find the full crew here . You may have arrived from Simone , so welcome. And this week we are really excited to welcome 3 new designers to the team, Krissy, Deb and Kelly  please do leave them a comment and welcome. This week we are using the samples from the Everyday Occasions section (which is a huge section) from pages 66-91. Because this is such a big section we will revisit it in a few weeks.  I have chosen the card on page 71 because I have always been attracted to grids.  I have used the gorgeous new By the Shore Designer Series paper, it has such a lovely fres...

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
