CTC#149 ever so sparkly!

Happy World Card Making Day!
I held a technique class and a Christmas Stamp-a-Stack so I'm happy to say I've seen lots of cards created today. And this is one of the designs we made today.

Christmas is such a beautiful time of year and it brings images all about Sparkle!...
and that's what this week's hop is focusing on.
Welcome to another week CASEing the Catty.
The gorgeous new Year of Cheer paper is just lovely and it was the paper itself that inspired me this week. I just wanted something very simple to let the paper stand out- and also because at this time of year when time is getting more precious Christmas cards need to be fast to produce so you can create a large number.

There are 3 sheets each of 4 designs in the pack, but I have only used 2 of the designs for these cards. There is gold, silver and copper foil printing on the papers which have a white base. It is easy to sponge or stamp over the white background and I have simply used a sponge to colour these pieces. Emerald Envy is my pick for the green this year- partly because the seam binding ribbon is so soft that it ties easily and looks lovely,

A small piece of ribbon tied around the white sentiment panel has a gold embellishment tied on for added sparkle.

This one has a narrow  scallop edge border of Emerald cardstock poking through which was created using the ribbon punch.

The copper and silver paper doesn't need too much in the way of embellishments.

I love the gold and silver on this paper.

I'll post some of the other creations from the workshop over the next few days. So be sure you are signed up to receive my blogposts as they are published so you will see some easy cute Christmas ideas. The sign up box is just under the rainbow swirl on the right panel of this page close to the top.

Don't forget there are some great specials to celebrate world card making day only available until October 10. You can order the notecards and envelopes kit at a bargain price, and loads of stamp sets at 15% off. Click on the image below to see the brochure for some bargains. Or message me for more details. but don't delay. This wont't last.

    1. thanks Kelly, you can also stamp directly onto the paper. That looks cool too- and another tip - because it's slightly heavier than regular DSP it embosses well through the embossing folders- I'll have another one to share this week!

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
