CTC#171 Gorgeous Foil papers in the last weeks of Sale-a Bration

Welcome back to CTC using the Sale A Bration products as inspiration. I am using the gorgeous foil paper again which is just so lovely to colour. I don't know if there is a name for this technique but it's a lot of fun and gives amazing results.

  • colour the glossy foil using the alcohol blends Blends pens
  • swipe your classic inkpad over the entire sheet ( This is water based ink)
  • wipe off the excess ink with paper towel
The Alcohol ink behaves the same way as the emboss resist technique so that the coloured images don't take any of the water ink. It's a bit scary to swipe the ink over but such a cool result.

I have CASED the layout of the card on the front of the brochure. I like the stamped card panel with the thread wrapped around with a vellum shape and the sentiment flag adhered over the vellum.

I used the light and dark coral inks and the old olive  ( I really hope they bring out another green ) and for the first panel I used the Wisteria Wonder inkpad.

For the second card I used the Night of Navy inkpad. - My colouring wasn't quite as exact on this one but I am still getting used to the blends pens.

Next this week is Julia. I know she has another lovely project to inspire you.

Before me this week is Rachel

Sadly there's only one more week of Sale a Bration for 2018 so if you would like to get some of this amazing paper for yourself it is free with any purchase of $90. I'd be happy to help you with your shopping if you need some advice, or just click on the shop now rainbow button on the top left of this page.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

  4. Oh my - I so did not notice the vellum on the card in the catalogue - one of the many many reasons I really LOVE our CASEING the CATTY challenge! These cards are so glorious and beautiful and colourful. I really love colouring with the blends too and you've done a great job with the DSP. I have added the daffodil delight or the bermuda bay to the old olive when I colouring with the blends and that gives you some awesome different shades of green - you'll love it!!

CTC#86 Everyday is a good day to send a card

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday night blogshop where we use a section of the Catalogue to inspire this weeks projects. We invite you to tour around the hop and to join in -after all the Catalogue has so many beautiful samples to inspire us all. If you get lost you'll find the full crew here . You may have arrived from Simone , so welcome. And this week we are really excited to welcome 3 new designers to the team, Krissy, Deb and Kelly  please do leave them a comment and welcome. New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
