CI#31 Ceiling spirals inspiration

Hello again, what a busy week with Easter, Onstage and new catalogue excitement. I love the inspiration picture with all the circle and patterns. But it's been so busy that I really needed something simple this week. If I look back over my Pinterest boards Circles are a recurring theme for me. So this was easy to put together.

The colours this week were suggested by Monique, Who surprised us all when she appeared on stage as a Display Stamper. It was wonderful to hear her story and see how creative she was with her projects. but Double Surprise when Denita was also up on stage demonstrating too. Congratulations girls - both fabulous presentations.

This is a great layout for using up different DSP papers together and I have done variations on this layout quite often.
Since I have also set myself a personal challenge to use up DSP this worked well too.

The stamping is pretty simple and used Daisy Delight and Lots of Love.
Circles of course includes glimmer dots and BUTTONS, which I love even though they aren't very practical

Do YOU ever wonder what do do with all those little pieces of DSP? Are you reluctant to throw them out?
Well here's a handy tip to help you. Punch out circles of different sizes using up your scraps, even the edges of paper - part circles work fine. Arrange them in any order across your chosen surface - I like to create a border for the inside of the card.
Here's how mine looked before I started.

Apply Tombow glue so you have a little bit of wiggle time to get them in place and adhere them so they hang over the edges of your card.

Trim along the edges and voila! - SUPER easy. I have finished the edge with some narrow washi.

If you'd like some more inspiration using this technique I have a project here.

I've done the same thing with strips before too., You can search this site using the tabs on the right, but you'll find some "Using Paper Scraps" ideas here.

ONstage in Sydney was so much fun, and there's so much amazing stuff coming out soon. The bright new colour palettes will definitley jump start some creativity.
Going to ONstage and seeing the new things first is exciting, and one of the perks of being a demonstrator. But the best thing is catching up with other demos who enjoy this hobby just as much as I do. A lot of the CI crew were there and It was impossible to get everyone together but it was lovely to catch up.

Next this week is Kim Oliver - our Guest Designer. Welcome to Kim, and she has been quick to use some of the brand new stamps we were given at Onstage.
Don;t forget we love to see what you come up with using the same colours , so take a photo of your project and post it to our Facebook Page. You might be selected to be our Guest Designer too.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
