Christmas Tags for CI#47

At Christmas there is always the need for gift tags. And Stampin' Up! has all the tools.
I love the new Christmas Tradition Punch.

I created these little gift boxes for all the crafters who came to my Christmas Card Buffet.
The boxes contained a sample of the embellishments in the holiday catalogue, lots of lovely bling.

I designed this project ages ago and I've since seen a lot of Navy in the Christmas Decorations in the shops so I was surprised and pleased that my project seems to be "On Trend" for 2018.

One of the projects at the card buffet was to make a set of gift cards using the Christmas Traditions stamp and punch set in these same colours.

That way at the end of the day they could put the set in the box and regift it -  a matching set in a readymade box ready to give away if they wanted to.

The inspiration pic this week is just gorgeous but I do have a confession- I went off on a whim and created the project THINKING I had used the right colours..... turns out I was slightly wrong- well pretty wrong in fact, but at this time of year there is no time to recreate so I'm just going to roll with it. I know you'll forgive me

Keeping the colour palette to only a few shades made it easy to mix and match different images but keep it coordinated ( and Ok I forgot the pink! ...oops)
The new corrugated embossing folder is fabulous but I found it essential to do the corrugations first and then cut to size. I cut the squares to size initially but after embossing they were too small - those dynamic ridges certainly take up a lot of space.
Each box was tied with a tag and a copper star or snowflake using the Garden green baker's twine.
Each person was given enough blank card and twine to make 6 tags, and we stamped all of the images at once using the stamparatus so everyone punched out the 6 different images.
They put them together using scraps of navy and green. The combinations were all so unique and lovely.  Here's a few samples I had put together as ideas using some of the embellishments from their gift.

and here's a few snaps from the day... I feel bad that there aren't even any Christmas decorations up for the day. This year has been a challenge to just get organised to be at events - hopefully 2019 will see a return to regular crafting, with a little more zing!

with yours truly demonstrating!
Next on the hop this week is the amazing Lou you're going to love her project- AND she used all the right colours!

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

  1. Oh, wow Elizabeth! Everything is just perfect, and I didn't miss the 'Powder Pink' - only because you mentioned you did. The Copper Elements and Gold Paper clips make up for it, and I love how the inspiration photo inpsired you to create the mini gifts. D xox

  2. Just ordered the Everyday Label Punch.....Now I can do a Tag workshop using just punches to cut the elements. I find this an appealing factor. I bought my Christmas Traditions box early! I think I will order a couple more as gifts, now that they are discounted. Thanks for your great post and inspiration !

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
