Enjoy the Adventure DSP with Country Bouquet Gift Tote with set of Notecards.

At my Country Bouquet card class in February this is one of the projects we created.  A cute little Tote Bag which holds a set of 4 notecards.

We first created the multicoloured strip of card using blending brushes, 3 colours of ink, ( Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Calypso Coral) on Shimmer Cardstock, White ink splatters, water splashes to lift some of the colour, and finally splatters of gold ink.

The Tote bag was inspired  from © Tammy Shaia, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, Be Creative Stamping 7/11/2022 Display Stamper Country Floral Boutique. She does have a video showing all her projects.

The advantage of this project is that is uses only half a sheet of 12 X 12 DSP and 1 ½ sheets A4 Cardstock, and it fits 4 Notecards and Envelopes

ASSEMBLY
Makes a beautiful gift. Lovely way to use  and show off your DSP
Stamp a simple set of coordinating notecards.
  • Use the largest stitched circle and a smaller one nested inside to cut 4 a rings which will be your bag handles
  • Mark the centre at the top of each side piece,  and score from this mark at the top to each corner at the base of the side piece to create the fold for the side flaps ( ie score a triangle with the base at the bottom of the bag)
  • Burnish the score lines on straight edges of the base and side pieces
  • Adhere the DSP panels to the long sides of the base piece noting any direction in the pattern of your DSP, adhere the flap of the base piece to the wrong side of the paper so they are on the inside of your bag.
  • Gently form the creases in the triangle score lines of the side pieces
  • Adhere the short flap of each side piece to the base of your bag
  • Adhere the sides of the tote bag one at a time using liquid glue so you can position correctly and hold until the position is firm
  • Adhere the cardstock rings ( handles ) to each side of the DSP. Glue two handles back to back with the DSP sandwiched between to give a neat edge.
  • Create a matching tag and tie / adhere to one of the handles.
  • stamp/ decorate the note cards and place in your gift bag. You can use the centre circles from cutting the handles as an element on each card if desired.
To create the notecards punch several hearts from your sponged and splattered piece.
Decorate each notecard with some simple backgrounds to allow your beautiful hearts to be the focal point. I tried some simple sponging, some strips of coordinating DSP and gold thread or ribbon, and a simple sentiment stamp for the Kraft Cards from the Covered in Sunshine stampet.

I hope you give this project a try.

The beautiful DSP is available as a Sale a Bration product at the moment. Don't miss out on this.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,

 post something pretty!"

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
