I created this card for a swap using all current products.
I've done many Bay Window Cards over the years but thought I would update the instructions for the sake of simplicity.
It's an easy and fun card to make.
This is a mix of metric and imperial cutting instructions.
You can get two cards from one sheet of A4 cardstock - in Australian sizes just cut the A4 into two 10.5cm x 29.8cm
If you are cutting from 12 x 12 (and in this instance I used Two Tone Cardstock which is all 12 x 12) Cut to 4 1/4 x 11 3/4
Scoring measurements are the same for each :
Score at 3/8", 2", 3 7/8", 5 1/2", 5 7/8"
Two Tone cardstock is not as rigid as regular card so use Thick Basic White for the sentiment mat inside. Cut one at 4 x 4". This adds stability.
DSP cut two strips 4' x 1/4" for the narrow edges which frame the piece.
DSP use one sheet 6 x 4" - with direction of pattern Landscape.
Cut 1 1/2", 1 3/4", 1 1/2" 1 1/4" - if you cut these in this order the pattern will flow across the page and the 1 1/4" piece will be on the inside.
Adhere the 3/8" section on the inside at the Centre Fold before you start, then add DSP to the front panels.
The focal panel can be anything you desire and the raised element to hold it open always looks great if done in glimmer and layered two pieces together - approximately 3/4" circle/ shape works well.
The inside always needs a little colour too!
Charming Day is such a great set to use, I love the simplicity. For these flowers I used a paintbrush and painted the flowers a mix of Timid Tiger and Strawberry Slush, and the leaves Mossy Meadow and Garden Green.
here's a few other ideas
