CI#200 Nov 26 Choose your fav colour

It's our 200th Challenge!!

Welcome to a very special challenge We are celebrating our 200th challenge at Colour INKspiration! I told you it was special. We still have many original Crew who started with our first challenge on January 11th, 2017. I've been here since the beginning playing along when I can. ( This amazing group was organised by the super creative Bronwyn Eastley. Past and present Crew members are amongst some of the nicest and most talented people I have ever met. And we even have some of our past Crew joining in with us to celebrate so watch out for their projects in the Album and in posts. We hope that you enjoy following and joining in with us as much as we love designing for you. Here's to another 200 challenges!
We welcome Catherine Proctor as our Guest Designer.
This challenge is a little different. We are asking you to showcase your favourite Stampin' Up! colour. It can be current or retired. It will be tricky to choose just one but we know you can do it!
As well you chosen colour for #CI200, you may also add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Beige, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’, ‘Bronze’ and ‘Natural Tones’ in the Stampin’ Blends.
To get your creative ideas flowing, make sure you check out the Crew’s Project in the CI#200 Album  on our Facebook Page

If you follow my projects you might have guessed that I would lean toward something GREEN or BLUE. I have had lots of favourites, and it was a tossup- Mint Macaron? Just Jade? Island Indigo? Boho Blue? Soft Succulent?

In the end I couldn't go past BERMUDA BAY.
So with a little something old and a little something new I have used the amazing new Friendly Foliage stampset and dies. I am really loving these. They are perfect for a simple card with or without a sentiment. I stamped the image twice with Bermuda Bay Ink, then heat embossed with Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder over the image. I backed the delicate foliage frame with some retired Bermuda Bay Foil and then set this on a white and a Bermuda Bay rectangle.

I did a tiny bit of stamping on the inside and the envelope.
The textured plain white background adds a little bit of luxe and there's a tiny bit more sparkle with the Irridescent Striped Trim ribbon.

You can find this fabulous new set in my online store.

Challenge guidelines:
· Create a NEW project made specifically for this challenge.
· Use only your 1 favourite Stampin' Up! colour along with allowable neutrals.
· Upload only ONE picture per entry straight to the discussion wall and NOT in an album.
CI#200 will run for almost TWO weeks and will end at 7 pm (AEDT) on Monday December 8th.
We hope you can participate this round and look forward to seeing a variety of projects showcasing your favourite colours. Happy stamping!

I hope you have a creative week and remember,

"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. Designers can take a layout, a colour combination, or any element as the starting point to create something new. We invite you to tour around the hop and to join in -after all the Catalogue has so many beautiful samples to inspire us all. If you get lost you'll find the full crew here . You may have arrived from Simone , so welcome. And this week we are really excited to welcome 3 new designers to the team, Krissy, Deb and Kelly  please do leave them a comment and welcome. This week we are using the samples from the Everyday Occasions section (which is a huge section) from pages 66-91. Because this is such a big section we will revisit it in a few weeks.  I have chosen the card on page 71 because I have always been attracted to grids.  I have used the gorgeous new By the Shore Designer Series paper, it has such a lovely fres...
