CTC#49 Home for Christmas

Welcome to the new timeslot for the CASEing the Catty bloghop, we are now uploading our projects on a Sunday night. Hopefully this will mean everyone is at home and able to deal with any technical issues straight away so that we can all experience seamless transfer from one site to the next all the way around the circle! With so many amazing projects to look at on the hop lets get started. If you  get lost along the way you can find all the participants here.
If you have arrived from Jess's blog you will have seen some azamzing projects - she's super talented.

So settle down with an evening cuppa and enjoy some beautiful projects as you end your weekend.

This week we are taking inspiration from pages  9-21 of the Seasonal Catalogue. There is such a lot in this section. I wasn't sure where to start but my project comes from page 18, using the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch.

It has taken me a little while to get used to it. The punch is divided in three sections but if you imagine a T shape in the guides it makes more sense. Along the top of the T is a straight edge to line up your Cardstock at any position to punch the ribbon slot. On either side of the middle of the T are the curvy corner pieces. Initially I thought you needed to place pressure only on the corner which you were trying to punch, but it works much better if you place your heel of your hand directly on the centre and push straight down quickly and cleanly.

I have CASED the gatefold card using Soft Sky, Night of Navy and the gorgeous Red Foil which are all colours in the luscious Season of Cheer DSP (page29). The sentiment is from Flurry of Wishes which is a super set, it's so nice to have a simple sentiment for the inside of the card in the one set. If you follow my blog you'll know that I love a Fancy Fold and have done lots! (If you would like to follow my blog and receive an email each time I post a new project just enter your address in the button on the right of the screen, just above the Blog Archive list)

I try to put the instructions and measurements on each post for you, but also so that I can come back and find them again in the future!

Cardstock                      21cm x 14 will fit the crumb  cake envelopes
Score at                           6cm and 16.5
Inside panel                   10 x 14cm
For navy card
White sentiment panel      9.5 x 11   -so that is is not visible through the fancy window if you use the corner with the 3 little holes.

When I had another look at the inspiration pic I realised that they had use the curvy corner without the  3 little holes! - so I quickly made another one using the DSP rather than cardstock. Be gentle scoring the paper so you don't tear the fibres. I do LOVE this paper. ( and I think I prefer this card). Again the Red Foil stands out, and the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies are essential on your wish list! -love them

A few other tips.
1 For a label with the 3 little holes in each corners cut card to  3.5cm wide (as here)
2 For the 2 scallop corner just be aware that it is not symmetrical so it you punch opposing corners use one edge with the paper face up and the opposing corner with paper face down.

Thanks so much for looking, now it's time to head over to the beautiful work of Julia Quinn

thanks for looking,  Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car

#Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
