Embossing Paste Background for any occasion and JAI#373

At the embossing paste class on the weekend I demonstrated how to use 2 different colours of paste and blend them together over the stencil.
For this card I used the inkpad to stamp a generous amount of colour onto the silicone sheet and mixed the paste directly into this. I didn't use reinker drops as the colour is a bit unpredictable. This way you can add as much or as little colour as you like, picking it up from your inked area on the silicone.
I used Berry Burst and Peekaboo Peach and spread them over the mask from opposite sides.
I was very keen to use some of the stunning soft crinkle ribbon which I acquired last week!

This card is created directly onto Sahara Sand cardstock.

I love using embossing paste over stamped images, but using it over DSP also produces some lovely effects.
It is hard to go past the woodgrain paper. The sentiment stamped under the embossing is from the new Painted HArvest set.
This week's challenge over at Stampin' Up! Only Challenges is to use butterflies or dragonflies so I am entering this card this week.

I am entering these cards into Just Add Ink#373 this week

I was inspired to make these cards after seeing a class that Jacque Williams taught and her video on Embossing Paste.
It was such a fun card to make - and a quick way to get a lot of impact.

thanks for looking and remember,

  3. Both of these are gorgeous Liz! I love the depth and almost ombré effect your colouring of the paste has created. It is so lovely and vibrant and combining it with the crinkly ribbon and shiny details makes for a gorgeous design. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car
