CTC#160 Picture Perfect Party

Welcome back for the start of a new year. Hooray for a new catalogue and new products. I'm also the proud owner of the new STAMPARATUS and I used it to quickly whip up 4 bright birthday cards. (for more details on why I am a lucky owner see this post), It really is amazing. This is a very picture heavy post because I wanted to show you some tips with using it which I found helpful.

This week we are CASEing from pages 4-9 of the new Occasions Catalogue, and this is my inspiration layout on page 6 (top left)
  • a coloured card base
  • a panel of DSP ( I used the new bright and fun Bubbles and Fizz -free Sale-a Bration product)
  • a solid colour wide strip with the sentiment extending over the edge of the panel of DSP
  • a white circle with a focal image, and a narrow horizontal element
  • some bling in matching colours

The movable panels on the side of the STAMPARATUS  baseplate allow you to do multiple pieces and have them positioned the same. I took a 10 cm strip of A4 card and placed it in the corner, and stamped the sentiment, then moved the plate down one notch  ( ie 1 inch) and repeated, then I rotated the card 180 degrees and repeated the process, that way the sentiments were all evenly spaced the same distance apart, and once trimmed with only 2 slices on the trimmer the 4 pieces were identical!

Similarly I rotated the large piece of card in the base 4 times as I stamped each part of the candles. Then when it was all finished I ran it through the bigshot with the stitched circle framelit.

Assembly went together very quickly.

I punched out some of the mini circle design elements from the DSP and layered each on a silver foil circle and put the small Happy Birthday sentiment flag behind each one. (This was to copy the focal image of the horizontal piece of twine in the original, which I think gives the whole card balance).

And finally, I hate to throw away pieces of DSP and I love to decorate the inside of the card so this is a technique I often use.
  • get a piece of scrap cardstock as wide as you need (it doesn't need to be a perfect shape)
  • cover it with a coating of Tombow glue spread across the face
  • layer the strips in a random order side by side so that they take up the whole piece
  • trim into strips (1.5cm wide for this card)
  • use them to decorate your card insert ( Or envelope, or card front- I have more samples under the label- using paper scraps of DSP if you are interested)

A tiny strip of narrow silver washi (love these) was just right to bring the silver from the front into the inside.
And there you have a quick bright fun set. The Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set has loads of great sentiments even if you are not into party blowers and ribbon pompom things.

If you'd like to play with the Stamparatus you are welcome to come along to one of my classes because I know my team and customers are just going to love it. Message me for details if you'd like to join in.

I hope you get a chance to create something this week inspired by the same pages in the catalogue- it doesn't need to be new papers or stampsets - we'd love to see what you create and share with us on our Facebook page.

Next this week is Angela
and
before me this week is Kelly

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

GDP #277 a gorgeous colour combination with Pretty Perennials

The Pretty Perennials Stampset is gorgeous to use on its own but the floral dies really do add a little something special. My card this week matches the colour challenge at the Global Design Project. I have stamped directly onto the Oh so Ombre DSP which is a free Sale A Bration item with a qualifying purchase for the rest of this month. I love the tone on tone stamping for added depth. I have gone over the Happy with Wink of Stella but it's not easy to photograph. The teeny heart is a teeny leftover of some retired Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and I have also incorporated other retired embellishments like the library clip and crystal button - I do love to use them up. Pink and florals - a perfect match. Here's what I used. CTC#48 Who doesn't love new DSP

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for this round. You may have come from Rachel's beautiful project  or you maybe starting here. There are lots of great posts to visit. This week we are using new Designer Series paper from the Holiday Catalogue - and who doesn't love a pack of new paper? The problem of course is which one to choose.... followed by the problem of actually having to CUT into a pristine pack. ....I know you all know what I mean. I have lots of photos for you today to try and show off some of the designs, but it's not easy to capture and they always look so much better in real life. I have purchased two packs - the Happy Haunting pack on page 47, which I was inspired to get purely from the background piece on the Lighthearted Leaves card on page 44. I don't celebrate Halloween, nor am I usually all that partial to Orange shades, but maybe that's changing! because I really like the designs. The pack has several papers that are specifically...
