Another Neutral palette and a park bench.

Hello again, here's another card I created in the lead up to CI#35 when I did quite a bit of experimenting, and struggled to make a card using only 3 colours. It's harder than you think!

I used the same colour scheme and another new set - Sitting Pretty stamp set, and Pretty Park framelits. I confess the park bench was the main draw card in purchasing this set, but I love the embossing effect with the pavement.  The bulldog will appeal to many, and the sweet little bird and squirrel are very cute too. The other park bench is very ornate and I'm sure I will love it once I start using it.
Gray Granite watercolours really well. I was surprised how easy it is to line up the leaves and the pot plant too. - Super effective.

I think I'm going to take Jackie Noble's tip and cut my  sentiment so it's more user friendly for me.
Here's her photo of her stamp. You can see her post here- and she has used the other sweet park bench from this set

I made this into an easel card, and Jackies' tip makes perfect sense for the anchor panel to be the other half of the sentiment.

I also combined this stamp set with the other gorgeous sitting here thinking of you set- the porch swing. And Denita Wright-Smee showcased this effect at Onstage with her samples. I think the cushions just make it- what do you think?

If you would like to see the other samples on the Neutrals Colour INKspiration bloghop you can start here. This was my project.

Funky Folds Blog Hop= a Bay window card using Country Flowers

Well it's been a very long time since I participated in a blog hop - and it feels good to be participating in a FUNKY FOLDS hop. You may have come from Jan McQueen's creation, or you may be starting here. Be sure and hop all the way around. I do love Fancy Fold cards and of course with a new catalogue and new products it is fun to be creating again. I have a big weekend retreat coming up in a few weeks and we are using the Country Flowers Stamp set so I am creating a swag of samples. Since time is such a precious commodity for all of us I am using some old favourite folds with new products - a whole new lease on life. For this week's hop I am revisiting the Bay Window Card. The front tri-panel piece bends forward and tucks in behind the little anchor which is fixed to the inside. Your card will stand up unaided. This is it with the edge tucked under the anchor. You can find the measurements and instructions and several previous samples on these pages. Today's card featu...

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
