Colour INKspiration #41 Regal Colour Family

Welcome back to Colour INKspiration for challenge number 41. Amazing that we have been going that long!! This week we are choosing any 3 of the Regal Colours - that sounds easy but it has really challenged me this time.

Here are the 3 colours I chose.

I attempted this card quite a few times and it didn't quite work as I had in my head, but it's nice and fresh I think. I love the 2 greens watercoloured together, and I painted a big sheet before stamping on it. ( I ended up with lots of leftovers and will have quite a few more cards to show in the next few days ).
The shaded spruce is a quite bluey- green so it contrasts nicely with the earthy nature of garden green.
One of my Mum's friends has been really supportive while she has been sick, so this is a thankyou card for her.
The little timber heart has been embossed with white powder. ( I"m sorry these are retired but I have to use up bits in my stash- it's getting a bit unmanageable!!!)
Once I adhered the watercoloured panel to the blackberry mat I ran the whole piece through the Subtle Embossing Folder. This serves 2 purposes- it makes the whole piece flatter, and it helps bond the two pieces together - and as a bonus it looks fantastic and adds a bit of texture. I'm not sure if you can see it in this photo, but it's a regular trick I do.
All the images are from Petal Palette which hasn't seen much action in a while, but it's so easy to use.

I used some of the cast off bits for the inside. Blackberry Bliss is just such a delicious colour!

Before me this week is Lou, and next on the hop this week is Rachel, You'll love her Christmas creation.

Don't forget we love to see what you can create using the challenge colours, and post it to our Facebook page.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,

"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. Funky Folds Blog Hop= a Bay window card using Country Flowers

Well it's been a very long time since I participated in a blog hop - and it feels good to be participating in a FUNKY FOLDS hop. You may have come from Jan McQueen's creation, or you may be starting here. Be sure and hop all the way around. I do love Fancy Fold cards and of course with a new catalogue and new products it is fun to be creating again. I have a big weekend retreat coming up in a few weeks and we are using the Country Flowers Stamp set so I am creating a swag of samples. Since time is such a precious commodity for all of us I am using some old favourite folds with new products - a whole new lease on life. For this week's hop I am revisiting the Bay Window Card. The front tri-panel piece bends forward and tucks in behind the little anchor which is fixed to the inside. Your card will stand up unaided. This is it with the edge tucked under the anchor. You can find the measurements and instructions and several previous samples on these pages. Today's card featu...

CI#165 Country Flowers posy

Welcome back to Colour INKspriation round#165. This week we have some beautiful new colours in our challenge. Shy Shamrock and Peach Pie are new, and team beautifully with Petal Pink. I am using the Country Flowers set quite a lot at the moment preparing samples for class coming soon. I saw a card like this on Pinterest and thought it was so fun I had to try it. I have done a double front card quite often in the past but this version is a top fold rather than a regular book fold. I have developed the measurements for the metric market and will post them after the class. Here is my card, I am quite happy with how it turned out. The colours work really well together - although I will say I thought the green stool was a bit bright so I actually added a layer of Peach using the Alcohol blends for this card- it did tone it down a little. When you open the card front there is another pretty layer to catch your attention. The pot plant is a little simpler than the posy, but there is ple...
