#onstage2018 Needlepoint Nook samples #4

I have always loved a 3D frame and try to create a sampler each time there is a new catalogue. The Needlepoint Nook suite lent itself to this quite easily.
A friend gave me a stash of goodies from a well loved sewing room which included these gorgeous thread wheels and lots of tiny timber spools of cotton, I have had some in a jar as part of my kitchen decor but moved them to this new home. Included in the stash was a beautiful button which inspired the handmade birdsnest in both frames I have made using the Cathedral Window style.
There are a few squares using the embroidery panel from the thinlits, some fussy cut floral embroidered flowers, and a few things I love.

It is based on the Cathedral Window quilt pattern and the circles of DSP are all Mossy Meadow, punched using a 2" punch, the squares are 1 3/8" and they are all raised on either a single or double layer of dimensionals or thick card.
I've used all the Needlepoint Nook buttons, lots of coordinating ribbon, the old olive linen thread, copper stickers, copper ribbon, and just a general stash of lovelies.

It was quite difficult to hang straight!! as part of my display board.

The little copper sticker butterfly is popped up on some wire.

A bit fiddly but very satisfying.
This is quite similar to the last frame I did which you can see here.

But most importantly, I hope you take inspiration from the central message and go post a handmade paper hug to someone you love today.

I still have a few more projects to post to add to my Needlepoint Nook Pinterest board, so be sure to subscribe to my follow me by email link

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
