TUTORIAL - Fancy Fold - Gate Fold #2 using DSP, 3 cards from one sheet

Gate Fold Cards are a an easy and effective way to showcase DSP and make a card with a little different opening. We made 4 different folds at my class last weekend and I am posting the tutorials here over the next few days.

Yesterday I posted the measurements and tutorial for a basic Gate Fold. You can read that here.
This is a slightly different but equally easy version.
The feature panel on the front is held closed under the little keeper on the right, it just tucks under.

DSP GATE FOLD INSTRUCTIONS

  • The card base is 10.5cm x 14.7 cm - ie 1/4 of a standard A4 sheet of Cardstock. This provides stability and a coloured frame for your DSP
  • DSP 10cm wide x 28 cm long ( you will get 3 cards from one 12 x 12 sheet)
  • Score at 7 cm and 21 cm
  • Inside panel is 9.5cm x 13.5cm
  • Front panels any size but not wider than 8cm  - Stitched Rectangles work really well
  • Be careful when adhering front panel to only apply glue to half of the panel which is adhered to the left front flap
  • Keeper is 1" circle and 3/4" circle held up on a dimensional, optional

  • Here's a few other samples.
You can see my Stitched Rectangles really got a workout.
Here's another using the Painted  Seasons Bundle. How amazing is this beautiful paper?

And I did this version a little while ago using the Needlepoint Nook suite.

I also posted this card a few weeks ago here
    .

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be posting a double gate fold card , a joy fold card and a Z fold card with instructions over the next few days.
Be sure to have subscribed to "follow by email" on the right hand panel of this page to get all of the tutorials straight to your inbox for free. - Just under one of the rainbow swirl boxes.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
    "don't just post online,
     post something pretty!"

    cheers, Liz

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

    Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
