CI#61 Painting with white, gorgeous wedding colours

Welcome, and what a beautiful colour palette and inspiration pic we have this week. - I think I say that most weeks!!.. but seriously this week is gorgoeus.
And I have a few orders for wedding cards so this inpsiration really set me to work. I have created a few wedding cards using white Kraft Ink to paint onto the darker card surface. You can then colour with your markers of blender pen onto your white base, but I left the flowers white and simply coloured the leaves with my favourite green Mint Macaron.

I used one of the gorgeous new masks coming in the Christmas Catalogue and while the embossing paste was still damp I sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  The floral image from Bloom and Grow was Clear Embossed onto Soft Suede cardstock and painted with white ink. I did a few coats allowing it to dry between layers. The leaves are coloured using just a marker. The card has a wishing well pocket inside to hold the notes discreetly so the ribbon is perfect to hold it closed when tied in a bow. The strip of vellum just allowed the flowers to come forward a little.

While I had the colours out on my desk I created a second version in a regular C6 size. Instead of embossing paste this version uses the subtle embossing folder and an oval of glimmer white to frame the flowers, which are all white in this version.

If you haven't tried painting with the Kraft Ink I can recommend it, it's quite surprising the effect.

And since this is also a Wishing Well card I made an envelope which is adhered inside for the notes, the flap is held closed by tucking into a strip of cardstock( decorated with some old washi tape).

Next up this week is Monique, be sure and hop all the way around. There are some amazing projects in the lineup/

And don't forget we love to see what you create using the same colours. Take a snap and load it to our Facebook page.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,

  1. Beautiful, Liz! I think your sparkly embossing paste is great. I've always mixed the glitter into the paste first, so it would be interesting to see if it makes a difference sprinkling it on while the paste is wet. Super wedding things.

  2. Both cards are gorgeous Liz, love the flowers in both versions. I'm going to have to get the mask I think.

  4. Two gorgeous examples - love the texture of the embossing paste and the 'white' flowers on the Soft Suede.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. #Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
