Busy Bees Buckle Card in Metric. tgifc#252

Today I created a Buckle Card inspired by Julie Davison of Julie's Stampin Spot.
She has created a very cute nautical card in imperial measurements and I'll attach the link to her great video tutorial, but I wanted to create one for our Australian Metric Measurements. My variation has an embellishment (the beehive) sitting over/hiding the buckle insert slot. It's a super easy but very effective.
The Belt is a strip which is anchored under the strip of DSP and shaped using the side of the Tailored Tag Punch. The slot is created using the Classic Label Punch.
It was so much fun to make I created a second version and colour scheme. The fabulous DSP is free with a qualifying purchase until the end of March and the black and white lends itself to some very striking cards. I am entering these in the challenge at TGIF#252

You can colour the tassels using your Blender Pens to coordinate with everything, here I used Lovely Lipstick.
The inside stamping is bright and cheery - such lovely sentiments in this set.
 Here's the measurements.

Cardstock Base              10.5cm x 25.8 cm   score at 11cm
Cardstock Buckle          5cm x 13.5              score at 3.5

Whisper White Sentiment panels
  • Buckle sentiment : scrap of W. White
  • Inside Whisper White     10cm x 10cm

DSP front                        10cm x 10.5cm
DSP inside strip              10 cm x 4cm
DSP on buckle (optional) 4.5cm x 7cm

I'll have another sample to share soon using a completely different stampset.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
