This weekend I held my Christmas Card Class and catalogue launch showcasing the new Christmas Catalogue. It was a great day and we did 6 projects using the Merriest Moments Stampset. I created several projects designed to show that the set is brilliant on it's own. Since not everyone owns a die cutting machine it is good to look at ways to utilise the stamps. There are lots of samples around which focus on the dies and embossing folder - which are stunning- but I have a few cards which just use the stamps, this is the first.
This is a really versatile set and the individual images stamp so easily to create simple or complex designs. This one is simple and super effective.
Leaving about 2 cm border at the top of your card ( use your grid paper as a guide) stamp the dark leaves first ( Evening Evergreen), followed by the foliage in a lighter shade of green. I used Mint Macaron for this version but many of the Stampin Up greens have blue tones and will work well together. ( Soft Succulent, Jest Jade for example) The tiny dots are meant to be the centre for the Poinsettia flowers but in this instance they suggest holly berries and the pop of red just says Christmas!
Stamp first, then emboss the lower half of the card - the narrow folders are perfect for this, and I used the Checks from the Checks and Dots pair. The strip of Bedazzled paper lifts the whole card and is the perfect cover for any untidy stamping at the base of your bough of greenery.
You can earn the Be Dazzled paper for FREE with a qualifying order until the end of September so let me know if I can help you get this on your order during Sale A Bration
Normally I find #simplestamping a challenge but I love how easily this design came together. I will be posting the other cards we made over the next few days so be sure and subscribe and pop back tomorrow for more Merriest Moments inspiration.
