CTC#117, SAB and a handy layout

Welcome back for another week. This week I have taken a layout from page 12 and ended up on a journey with a few unplanned changes - do you ever start crafting with one plan in mind but it then takes a different direction? Happens to me all the time... Welcome back for another week at CTC, you may have arrived from  Rachel , or you may be starting here, but sit back with a cuppa and enjoy the hop around this week's collection of projects inspired by pages 12-15 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. There's heaps to see. If you get lost you can find the full crew  here . So here's where my journey began.. I liked the partial die cut element where the taco truck outline comes right off the edge of the circle, so I planned to try that with the chicken. You need to stamp your image first, lay the frame lit (any shape) so that part of the image extends outside the circle, and lay your top acrylic plate so that part of the circle (or other frame lit) is not covered by t...

More Jars of Love with Embossed Lace using tone on tone techniques -a CASE of a CASE of myself!!

I made these jars cards very early on when I first opened the Delicate Details lace set. I loved the lace designs but I also thought that the straight and swirly lines image in that set could also double for the bumpy base you see around the bottom of some old glass jars and bottles, and even the ridges for the screw top lids.  I was also busy creating samples for a display for our stamping retreat and wanted to show off the brilliant bright current In-colours by using some tone on tone sponging to create depth and increase the brightness of plain cardstock shapes.  This is a technique I love to use and I did it last year with the teacups. (there's a sample and the link at the end of this page) Jar of Love is a fabulous set, but the little love heart and thankyou are super cute too - you'll find them in the Lift Me Up bundle You can find the post with the teacups here - I As you can see I have CASEd myself!  - which is totally Ok because I sti...

CI#04 Jars of Love

Welcome back for another Colour INKspiration challenge. Aren't those pansies in the inspiration picture this week just stunning - those gorgeous yellows and strong purples. These are not colours I normally gravitate to but a challenge is all about extending yourself so i'm glad to have had a go! I have recreated a selection of jars with my very favourite Jar of Love set. I have made cards like this before using very bright colours which are fun and very sweet, (and I'll post them tomorrow, so make sure you have filled in the follow by email box on the right side of this page) but today I needed to make a Sympathy card for a good friend who also loves Stampin' Up! It's a card for my work friends to give a colleague so it needed to be big enough for lots of people to sign it.  This card measures 13 x 19cm and I chose this size simply because I had some large envelopes left over from some wedding stationery- they have a little embossed heart on the flap whic...
