Brand New Foliage and Floral Frames- SWOON!

Hello again, it's been a while since I created a project just because I love it- with orders and classes and markets - oh and family and work - most of my creating has been for a purpose.
So today it's been so nice to just play with some new products and enjoy the process - doing what I love.

And my new set is a frame set- so that fits perfectly with the challenge at Just Add Ink #414

The front has a little glimmer heart on the window, and this is mirrored on the inside along with the same stamp. I am going to love using this set.

Whenever there are new sets around there are few inspiration pictures on Pinterest etc so it forces me to sit and play and discover for myself, which is such a nice process.
So here's what I learnt with this set:
  • The framlelits don't actually cut out the big floral stamped image- I obviously didn't have a close enough look at the images in the catalogue. So I have fussy cut this image, but that wasn't hard
  • The circle in the centre can be cut with a plain 2" circle framelit because the additional flowers will sit exactly over the image and cover where you have cut them away.
  • the window can be filled with a 21/4" circle (I used vellum today)
  • the leaf framelits can all be cut and then embossed using the embossing mats- I'm so excited to have a leaf that resembles GUM LEAVES! I'll have more on that tomorrow and some tips with the embossing mats. - I didn't realise they could be embossed before I assembled this card but I don't think it's a problem
  • Each leaf design comes in a pair- one angled right and one angled left. You can see the difference between the plain and the embossed leaf on the larger pieces on the left of this photo.

  • the large floral frame framelit does not have a stamp that matches it, BUT it looks amazing embossed - SO MANY possibilities.  I'll have more samples made up with these over the next few weeks.
thanks to the wonders of Facebook and the amazing generosity of members of a group there, I was sent another link to a similar post which gives more detail on how to use the embossing mats to create the detailed effects. You can watch that here.

My Mum is not well at the moment so this is a little paper hug in the mail from me. I think she'll like it.

Hope you have a creative week and remember,

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. #Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
