CI#188 May 28

Welcome back for another (LATE) edition of Colour INKspiration #188.

Amidst the renovations and the half packed craft room I had some fun playing with some of the new In Colours 25-27 and a few new products that have been waiting patiently to be used.  I am surprised by how much I enjoy using Timid Tiger!

This week's picture was chosen by Lou, and it's a great mix of new and existing colours from the range. I had fun playing with these.

We would like to welcome Cez Tolentino as our guest designer this round. Be sure to check out everyone's creations using this palettte on our Facebook page and also on Instagram.

I have had Cake Celebrations on my shelf for quite a while now and I loved how easy it is to use. Creating the cake was super easy. The Strawberry Slush was stamped off for the cake layers but used full strength for the bands of filling.  Sometimes photopolymer images don's hold the ink well enough for second generation stamping but these ones do it really easily.
I cut the new ribbon in half along the length to give 2 narrow pieces which tied really easily into the bow.
The background DSP was given a bit of additional texture using the new Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder

I wanted to use a few other new products  and while I had the colours out I also created a few other cards. I played with the new Irresistible Designs Cardstock - white embossed card that you can colour with blending brushes or any other method of adding ink. I used the leaf design on the Coastal Cabana Card. I also love the amazing Textured Notes nested rectangle dies which all have a different detailed border.

And finally, I was also playing with the amazing new Extraordinary Washi Tape and the die which cuts all those amazing flowers in one pass on the Cut and Emboss Machine. So for the last card I stamped the cake and then layered it up with a selection of the flowers. Super Easy.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
