Square card with diamond fold using DSP for Card Class June 25, Impressions Abloom and Greetings for All make it super easy.

I recently posted a simple design for a card that uses more DSP than cardstock. The original design uses half a sheet of 12x12 and you can find the instructions and measurements on this post from May 16th. It also contains the smaller measurements whih we made at class.  ( using piece 5 x 10"). I was able to source some square envelopes ( 14x14cm) which will fit this size card.

Black and white work so well with a pop of a strong colour and I love these Strawberry Slush and Shy Shamrock versions. The smaller white square for the card front has been embossed so that the texture allows the white feature flower to stand out. I don't usually do black leaves but I love the effect here. The stitched flowers are from the Impressions Abloom dies and are quite a feature. These cards came together very quickly using sentiments pressed out from the pre printed sheets "Greetings for All".

The layout is the same but the different colours produce quite different looks.

The only tricky part is applying the adhesive to the front flap making sure not to get glue in areas that will be visible when the card is open.

You can find all these products in my Online Store here.

Be sure and check out all the photos and tutorials for cards we made at Class this week. There is sure to be some inspiration there for you. This is the earlier ( larger ) version I made using the same technique and principals.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,

 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
