Sliding Lock Mechanism Card with Grow with Love

Card Class June 2025

The Sliding Mechanism keeps the two side panels closed and creates a nice surprise.

I love the Grow with Love stampset- it's an online exclusive but is so sweet with the gorgeous label image and die, lots of herb stamps and some sentiments. The coordinating dies are a bonus. Sadly it is now on the last chance list, so it is available until sold out.

Here is the card open. You can see the sliding mechanism is the smaller stamped panel. The inside card in this sample is Strawberry Slush, and the card base is Misty Moonlight. I stamped the script stamp in Strawberry Slush (stamped off) and the Rosemary Thyme and Mint in Lost Lagoon. The DSP strips on the front side panels are Strawberry Slush to coordinate with the cardstock mats.
The printed sentiments from "Greetings for All" make it super easy to add a message to any card, and when the card is closed and locked this message is hidden.

Here's the image of how the sliding mechanism looks. It is simple two pieces of cardstock ( Front slightly larger than the back). There is a central strip of adhesive foam which separates the two and provides the height to allow the mechanism to slide freely over the two side panels.

with the 2 side panels between the front and back of the mechanism.
For this sample I adapted the Sliding Lock Mechanism to different dimensions (ie from the table of dimensions below) to be the size of the label I wanted to use.

In the sample below you can see the dimensions as per the instruction table. But that's the beauty of card making, you can adapt anything to what you require.
I hope you give this a try and have fun with it.

I have created a pdf file with these instructions if you would like to print it out.

For these and any other products you can find them in my Online Store here.

This is the beautiful card I received from one of my team members which inspired these cards.

This card has only imperial dimensions as per the table below. It would be easy enough to adapt to Metric C6, and maybe I'll do that one day!

I'll have another sample to share tomorrow.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,

"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
