Impressions Abloom and a Four Panel Accordian Fun Fold card - old and new together.

This is one of the Fancy fold cards which we will be creating at my June Card Class

I had fun creating this card which is another great design to use up some of your DSP stash. My friend Janine Rawlins put me on to this tutorial, although I am sure there are plenty out there for a similar design as it is not new. This version is from Connie Stewart - Simply Simple Stamping. She calls it a 4 Panel Accordian Fun Fold card.

I created her imperial version first but this is adapted to be closer to Australian dimensions.

  • Cardbase 12 x 5 3/4" Score at 1 3/4, 4 3/4, 7 3/4"
  • ( this size is 14.5 x 10cm which is close to our standard 14.8 x 10.5)
  • white card insert 4 x 5 1/2"
  • white card and mat for sentiment as desired
  • DSP
    • 1 1/2 x 5 1/2  cut 2
    • 2 3/4 x 5 1/2  cut 2
    • 1 1/4 x 5 1/2
I've created a few recently experimenting with different papers and colours. This one was a great woodgrain background to show off some new Flower Dies which are coming May 6th. They are part of a new suite and while I have not acquired the stampset, the dies are able to be used as a stand alone product. They are quite useful as they cut and emboss the detail on the flower in one pass of the DieCut and Emboss machine. You can also use just the outline for the flower shapes, the flower centres and the leaves if you have stamped them. The set also comes with 2 gorgeous large oval dies , one of which creates both a detailed narrow frame, and second oval which will nest beautifully on the larger one.

I really look forward to using these dies for some more projects.

You can find all these amazing products and plenty more in my Online Store.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,

 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
