Revamp of an old card - working magic with a scalpel and a Piece of Cake.

Do you ever make cards that just don't quite work and you can't bring yourself to use them? I do, all the time. And sometimes I can revamp them into something new, like this Birthday card using the fabulous Piece of Cake stamp and punch  This is the new version This is the old version I created these watercolour cards last year, and you can read more about them here . But they never really worked for me so I did a little surgery - I cut the panel off the Pineapple card, leaving a thin border and mounted in on some Kraft cardstock (I wish Stampin' Up! would bring this gorgeous card back), before mounting the cake in front of it. Now I like it much better. I may just have to have a look at what else I have that needs a little TLC .... or a scalpel! I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

CTC #216 SAB Embossed Flowers - I'm in Love

Sunday is CTC day and this week's inspiration is the Second Release Sale a Bration products. They are stunning.  How funny that this week my friend Kelly Kent and I have created almost the same card - not for the first time. She's so talented and I'm quite chuffed to think I might be as clever as Kelly. I love how she has used DSP as her base and I'm going to show you a slight difference using cardstock, but I'm off now to try Kelly's trick. As a demonstrator we have early access to these items so we can have some samples ready to show you when they become available to earn - which is from now until the end of March. The first two items are level 1 - choose 1 product per every $90 spend, the Painted Seasons Bundle is level 2 - choose 1 per every $180 spend. I love these bright colours-although the inspiration photo gives them a pastel appearance, welcome to the hop for Colour INKspiration #49 I loved the row of houses and decided to do my colours all in a row as well using a very unassuming stamp from the Incredible Like You set. I think it's supposed to be the centre of a flower? but I just stamped it randomly as a dot and then lightly sponged a little of the same ink over the top for a bit more depth. Product List Incredible Like You Photopolymer Stamp Set [ 148708 ] $28.00 I wonder how many other sets I've got where I haven't used an image as much as it could have let me? Challenges are a great way to look at your supplies with new eyes. And I just love how all the design team members start with the same inspiration and end up with so
