Lillybet's Papers

Well in a little bit of amazingness I was invited to be a presenter at #onstage2018 in Brisbane. I was given the gorgeous Needlepoint Nook suite to present and had such fun playing with it. I feel so honoured to have been given such an amazing opportunity and very grateful for all the support that Stampin' Up! gave me. I have created lots of different samples and will be showing them to you over the next few days. Stampin' Up! wanted to bring embroidery to stamping and so they created the designs and took them to an embroiderer who worked her magic with needle and thread. The finished pieces were photographed and that became the basis for both the DSP and the Stampset. In a first the Photopolymer set is DistINKtive so you can actually see the threads and the fine detail in the stamps. IMPORTANT TIPS FOR PHOTOPOLYMER DISTINKTIVE STAMPS dark inks will give a much crisper image than pastel inks experiment with all your inkpads, some will simply work better than others y...

Wood Words is such a gorgeous set and I have had lots of fun playing with it. I used it for one of my Catalogue launch swaps in Fresh Fig, and made a set in all the incolours. I also did a simple and a stepped up version of each.  Stepped up version heat embossed in copper and images coloured in, Woodgrain strip and 2 layer sentiment To create the frame use a marker and the appropriate size square framelit., Draw the line with your marker in the matching colour. Use your aquapainter and pick up a bit of matching ink, paint a brush stroke of colour just inside your drawn border. Stepped up versions! Wood words was a favourite set at the launch. Well I'm so excited to be CASEing images and products from the New Catalogue. Welcome to CASEing the Catty this week where we are using the Everyday Occasions Section (p18-65) of the New Catalogue as inspiration. We can use a card layout, colour combination, embellishment or project as a launch pad for our own creation. Next weekend is my full day Stamping Retreat and Catalogue launch and I have been busy planning and preparing for that ( well in between work and real life etc). The catalogue really does have a wealth of wonderful  inspiration projects from very simple to quite complex. This month I need SIMPLE! And what could be more simple than letting the gorgeous papers speak for themselves with a tiny bit of stamping. When I first saw the "Pick a Pattern DSP" I didn't really give it a second glance, but now that I have it in my collection I'm so glad. It is a really fun suite on pages 40-41. Well all good things come to an end, and this week is the end of the Occasions Catalogue so the team are CASEing it one last time. Many products are continuing but some just have to go. So I'm using the Urban Underground DSP before it's gone, and Kraft cardstock which I REALLY am going to miss, and an old tool - the alphabet rotary stamp since I don't yet own a small alphabet stamp to create my own sentiments. But I have also chosen the Gorgeous Dragonfly Dreams set which is continuing and some new ribbon coming next week - the mini chevron ribbon. I love quite a lot of projects in this book but I am very short on time this week so opted for a card that looked quite quick and easy, as well as packing a punch with its simplicity. Welcome back for another week at CASEing the Catty. Since I'm a bit time poor at present I flicked through the Catalogue for some quick and easy cards this week. I liked the bright and simple cards on page 34 so was happy to have a play with that layout.  I also wanted to use the opportunity to play with the lovely Make a Medallion set which is only available for the next few weeks of Sale a Bration. Since it's a circle shape it fits nicely with the layout. Cutting up some DSP is always a little hard until you actually make the slice but I pushed myself to do just that. I do love Mint Macarron and I'll be very sad when it retires this year, so cutting into a full sheet was a challenge for me.  this week CTC#118 is taking inspiration from pages 32-45 of the Occasions Catalogue Here's the layout in the strawberry paper.
